If you are using an app that permits it cap your upload to 160kbps / 20kB/s. If you allow your upload to go at full speed you *will* lose speed and be taken down to perhaps 30kB/s.

Your link is 2048/256, you could upgrade to 3072/384 if you wanted.

At the moment Telewest employ no traffic shaping.

Sounds a lot like you are just maxing out your upload, limit it to about 66% of maximum and you'll be fine.

Well i'll admit it's not very clear what I meant by that.

What I meant is, it's a game that you disregard after a week. Wink
