If somebody is interested, I managed to bin patch Heavy Rain so it doesn't need to install anything to your HDD anymore to launch it, thus allowing you to save 5 gigs on your internal hdd + no need to boot the game into the internal hdd for the first time to install it since you don't have to install anything anymore Very Happy

Just pm if you need it

Any of the manager apps have specific folders for their APPID, ie; BM1 is "LAUN12345" - Games installed via BM get put inside GAMEZ subdirectory of the APPID (in this case; LAUN12345). When you delete the app, the PS3 *itself* deletes the LAUN12345 folder and the contents too. Same logic applies to OBM, like OMAN4567whatever. When you remove OBM, the OMANxxxx folder goes as well. IF you specify a different folder on first-run, outside of the OMAN one, then yes; the games will stay in said folder. Anything inside APPID gets removed.

This is a SONY coded function.

It's not possible to delete an app and still have remnant files left in the APPID folder. It's just not.

hey don't shoot the messenger, that's what i did and what i have, all my games are there after deleteing several managers

Anyone here jailbreaking using the ipod nano rockbox exploit ? My ipod was behaving funny this morning and now it won't boot up >,> I can't believe that it just failed out of the blue like that -,-

Anyway , here's the post i made on the rockbox forums :
"Hey guys ,

I've been using my ipod nano first gen , with rockbox installed to jailbreak my ps3 for the past 3-4 days and it has been working flawlessly. Today when i tried turning it on , though , the ipod screen was black ( but not lit ) and it was just staying that way. I reseted it using menu + center and then it just went blank.

Now it doesn't respond to resetting it , or trying to turn it on by pressing play. It's currently plugged in the pc via USB but no message regarding charging is being displayed.

Any ideas about what i could do , anyone ?

Oh yeah , forgot to mention . The pc hasn't reacted when i plugged the ipod in , via usb. Also , i'm quite a noob about this sort of thing , so if anyone has even a simple solution please mention it , because i probably didn't think of it ^_^."

Mathieulh explains the real reason why v3.42 games can’t run! -------->>

He explains why patching the PARAM.SFO on new games, like Medal Of Honor, still doesn’t allow the game to run. Apparently with the introduction of 3.42 firmware, Sony added new encryption keys for their games. What this means is all new games will begin using these keys (MOH being the first). Since 3.41 firmware doesn’t contain these encryption keys, the firmware can’t decrypt and run newer games. When it fails to decrypt a game it produces the error 80010019.

Don’t panic just yet, this isn’t the end of all hope for playing newer games on 3.41 firmware. If hackers somehow figure out a way to decrypt these newer games’ executable (EBOOT.BIN), they could then redistribute the decrypted executable for each new game. Then the new games could be once again playable on 3.41. However, do not get your hopes up as this is a ways off. It seems for now, jailbroken consoles are stuck with the current crop of games.

Oh dear.

I did say this a few days ago in the Gt5 thread! Can't blame them I'd do exactly the same thing to protect my product

Yes but they are doing a good job at staying ahead of this hack. Unless someone can decrypt the eboot then I think our chances are slim atm of playing later games.
But I really hope I am proven wrong!

Nope, cannot be done because the game will actually extract the data files from the game and cannot use the packed ones... Although I found out when the game is installed, you can remove that big tv.dat, but not GT5.vol (although if you keep the first ~200MB of GT5.VOL, it will be enough for the game to boot and use what it installed on the hdd )

Glad I did not buy a PS3 yet...Even though there are tons of games compatible with 3.41, I dont see spending $300 on a system that cant play games past that.

didn't do the same thing on the PSP?

we all know that it will be hacked eventually, the "almighty Unhackble PS3" has been hacked,I don't think we will be wait another almost 4 years for another hacks, the PS3 hacking scene has been ignited on,it's too late to turn it off.

until now,FW protection to prevent games to be played on older FW has prove less effective protection, they already tried it on PSP,and MS on 360,all those protections been cracked.

I couldn't agree more. I've entertained my own doubts about this whole thing, but the simple fact it; the PS3 is hacked now. LV1 has peek/poke access, LV2 and LV2b are wide open like a hookers gaping snatch. It really is only a matter of time before someone discovers either the decryption keys, or a way to simply bypass it altogether.

-edit-

And someone consolidated all the latest fixes into one, easy to use, HEX. Enjoy!

well it was fun while it lasted, every time hackers will hack new games $ony will rehack that shit, unendable circle, besides not all games work, it's till hit and miss, some have glitches, pretty sure $ony will start banning hacked ps3's as well, despite u not having stick in it there is still software that sits in your ps3 which has nothing to do with something that was produced by $ony

360 still has most stable hack, all games work new/old doesn't matter and most importantly m$ doing jack shit about it due to big amount of rrod or they probably not as greedy, the only downside is u still have to burn games unless u own a jtag

You're acting like it's over? Scratch Head Dude, have you SEEN how far the scene have come in under two months?? This from absolutely NOTHING in the four years prior? The machine is open, we just need to wait on the able-bodied coders to work their magic. This is FAR from over, my man.

hackers probably will put the changes from 3.42 inside an 3.41firmware.. I read that it are very few changes so its not that difficult.. after that is done.. simply load the new 3.41 trough the usb firmware loader.. and tadaa you have a firmware with the new encryption keys.. .. hopefully its this simple Smile
