I'm perfectly aware of that, but if you think that the touchscreen/touchpad is stupid, then your being stupid yourself. It is the only logical next step in gaming control.

No I just prefer PS2 Graphics, MP3 and MP4 playback and Memory sticks instead og a Touch pad and N64 graphics.

This time im quoting because he completely edited his post to something completely different. Anyways..
We do know some stuff about the new Gameboy coming out. We know for sure it has graphics equal or better then the gamecubes, and has the ability to play DS games. But thats about it.
Also, nintendo said the DS was not the next gameboy WAAAAYYYY before we even knew much about the PSP to begin with. Get the facts right.

dude, what does Nintendos statement regarding "DS wasnt the next GB issue" have to do with PSP vs DS affair?
Decaps talked about DS as a competitor to PSP...

He made a first post, which I didnt quote, then completely edited it, and changed it to what you see now. Anyways the thing is completely fucked up now, lets move on to the next series of arguements.

dont get me wrong, I would, as a technology fan, enjoy seeing a new GBA with whoopin technology but I think nintendo announcing a new system just a few months after releasing the DS is like a slap in the face of those who bought it...
to me its just as if sony announced a PSP 2 for next christmas...
I wish I had something really cool to put in my sig...

But from day -100 (basically before the thing was even released) they said, and I quote " The Nintendo DS is the 3rd Piller". Meaning - They have the console hardware, the GameBoy Hardware, and the new DS related line of hardware.
Now if this will hold true is anyones guess, but I imagine it will because the DS is in no way a failure like the virtual boy.
It's allready clear by looking at the software which nintendo is releasing for the DS that it is more of a PDA with the best gaming capability. More and more software is coming out that is basically making the DS more PDA-Ish. I personally just cant wait for nintendo's tunneling solution to go online, which I imagine will start soon because of the release of the PSP. It will be great to play MMO games on the ds. Anyways, back onto why the DS is different. It is confirmed that nintendo liscensed SOMETHING from Palm FOR the DS, and soon I bet we will see something that really gives the DS more of a 'oomph' in the productivity area. They allready have the great dictionary program coming out (which looks very cool BTW, it is a full featured portable dictionary program, with some other cool functions with it), so its a sure thing they will be releasing a lot more things which really make it stand out as a whole new line of hardware.
And why would nintendo NOT choose this path with the DS? Its the perfect solution. The DS is VERY powerful for a handheld device of today, so given the fact that the DS uses the same computing technology as Palm OS devices, and then add on the fact that you get N64 quality games, it really makes it the best PDA out there. And please dont say the DS does not have the expansion capability. Expansion wise it has way more then the PSP or any other device out on the market of its sorts. The GBA cart slot is literally like a PCI slot in a computer, only faster. They could easily make something which allows you to insert compact flash units, or add memory/video RAM upgrades for better looking games. It really is a feature rich device, but only time will tell what really happens.
Basically, nintendo is going after the PDA market, and if you ask me its doing one hell of a job. Just give them some time to release productivity software. You have a device which is easily one of the more powerful PDA's on the market with N64 quality gaming, but only a fraction of the cost.

I get your point, but I think you understand how betrayed some people feel about the DS - GBA2 announcement.
I really look forward to seeing a web browser and e-mail client (with a keyboard offcourse) on the PSP.
Anyway, the GBA 2 probably won't aim at the same market as the PSP. We will probably see a lot of exclusivity on both machines just as when the PS2 - GC and X-BOX were released.
I would be very surprised to see DIVX, MP4 support and such on GBA2 since that's not very nintendo-ish. However, the GBA2 will probably be more innovative about input devices, multiplayer options, etc...
Of course I'm not saying that one is better than the other, to me it's like comparing Mario Kart Double Dash with Gran Turismo 4: it's just aimed at two different markets on two different consoles with two completely different goals.
I wish I had something really cool to put in my sig...

the PSP can be sent back for a replacement if it has dead pixels... -
From Gamespot:
"The Sony rep suggested that PSP owners who encounter the pixel issue should try the device "for a week or two" to see if it continues to bother them. "If you find the spots are interfering with gameplay/video viewing during this period, we will support the various elements of [the PSP] warranty," the rep said. Each PSP comes with a one-year limited warranty, which is on page 125 of the PSP manual. If a PSP is "determined to be defective" by SCEA, the company will see to the "repair or replacement of this product [the PSP] with a new or refurbished product at SCEA's option."
According to a technical support associate contacted by GameSpot, PSP owners who encounter a persistent and aggravating dead-pixel issue should contact SCEA's customer service line (1-800-345-7669) for instructions on how to exchange their unit after a week or two of using the unit. "We will work with you," he assured. The associate said the process would work much like exchanging PlayStation 2s that suffer from the dreaded "Disc Read Error" problem: Gamers will mail their PSPs in to SCEA and receive units with new screens. The associate was unsure if customers would receive an all-new unit or their old unit with a new LCD screen. "
