So it might be the same one with the "Russian Only" but you need to change the language in the shortcut's properties for it to work in english or... the uploader could be lying, but probably not. I put it to download too, but we still need a crack I think or is the demo solution working?

Edit: Aye, the speed it's pretty bad, but I had worse. Right now it just went up to 400 kb/s, until now it was around 250 kb/s.

Russian only, you can take the English data from the demo but very little will be translated as it's only partial, also the demo is quite different from the main game.
(Although I've not reached the main island and you still won't like the game if you didn't like the demo somewhat but it's better but it's kinda a hack & slash action game at times.)






(Tutorial/Dream right before the scene from the demo, though it's balanced in a better way now, crude stick and just recently found a rusty sword and worn shield, molerats can kill in a few hits and goblins in two to three on this difficulty level, they're not that slow but the AI issues are still there what with powering up spells and abilities for a while before attacking, quests are also different such as killing of a molerat swarm before attacking the mercenary to prove your worth.)

It uses a mix of the demo files to run, had to extract everything as to prevent the exe from crashing so it's a bit glitchy but I'm planning to start over once the full localized English version appears next week (I guess.).

It's on "Gothic" as well as the screen shows and it's not that different from the demo but it's not so over-powered since you now play at a proper difficulty level and with far lower-end gear.
(Won't see any armor until the main island for example from how I understood it.)

JB, can you upload the needed files from the demo somewhere or the files needed are to big? I wouldn't download the demo again just for some files... I think all will be glad if you do that (if you can of course) Very Happy.

Edit: I see. So you can make a short tutorial with what it's needed (files, where to put them, etc.)? There was that tutorial in german, but I didn't really get what all the instructions meant. No need to hurry, when you have time, if you have time.

It's a bit over 3 GB with all the files unpacked so not something I can upload.
(Plus as I said very little is localized and any non localized data is broken and displayed as a reference number of nine numbers.)

EDIT: Anyone have that supposed update though?
(I can acquire it and upload it if it exists but I would need the original 40 MB untouched date-check exe since it's part of that, if you run it but deny it from validating and check the temp folder you'll see the remnant SecuROM data it uses, unfortunately if you deny it from updating you won't get the chance again and I missed that a update was out so I messed it up.)

There no way for someone who say has preloaded it from say steam to decrypt the files? and then wack over the localisation stuff to the russian main release / crack to get it runnin in english?

Or is a case of "if only it were that easy... MORON" Smile

It's the Russian "clone" (Just a ISO actually.) but with large parts of the demo data to allow the exe to function, it's not very functional due to the missing localization and who knows what else but it will hopefully give quick overview of the game before the other localized editions are released.
(As I said I'll replay it properly once that's happened, this is just to explore and for fun.)

Actually its kinda funny, as the update that the game tries to download after activating is an update for football manager 2008 and not arcania. That apparently happened to only a few people not everyone. So i guess there is no real update for arcania.

I always wonder why people play those undeniabaly shitty half-translated, tinkered, custom made 'games'. All we miss now is someone saying the game sux after experiencing like that... Two weeks until release, chill out...

Game is released in several stores already (Jowood and WorldofGothic forums, probably the reason SecuROM moved it from 12th to 9th for activation.) and will be out officially on Tuesday actually. Smile

I like these sort of modifications but I'm a bit different I guess and usually work with or "hack" stuff but I don't play it seriously at all and start over when the localized English version is released, just reached the mainland, pretty impressive but I'll probably not progress much further until the data is available, less things to redo that way though I have to say the rain effect is quite impressive and the main island looks promising.
