That's not quite right. The game is done. Its .xbe file is just signed with a remark that doesn't harm the game and its stability at all. Think of it as buying a new cd and having a small, black dot somewhere on its case you cannot even see.
It's only down to scene nukers' absurd way of calling everything "Beta" which makes casual users believe the game isn't done or filled with bugs or any bogus like that. So don't pretend to be 1337 by saying it's not done. It simply doesn't comply with scene rules in a way casual gamers shouldn't even care about. But, oh well, those are the rules nowadays.

Maximum a week of waiting for the final retail!. |
What the hell, why are you telling people not to get it..If people want to leech a non-retail version, what difference does it make to you? Its a not a beta anyway, clearly.

where's Faith/unices - he would of loved this thread.
as long as it works which it does i don't care if it beta/nuked or whatever, too many reasons these days to Nuke a game that has nothing wrong with it.

Converted mine from the dvd9 release to dvd5 as posted by schimi2k
. .great 1st post from him BTW
deleate all languages except INT in these two folders
default/screens
default/sounds
and deleate dashupdate and then rebuild and you get a 3.89image iso to burn to dvdr - better than ALLSTARS relinked movies attempt

Do the levels have more than one path to completion, like they promised? |
Yes, they do, due to tons of optional goals you can achieve. At the end of each mission you get a %-rating based on how well you did and your style of playing. Although this sequel is way more action oriented than its predecessors, I'd keep the rating in mind all the time and go for the sneaky part of killing foes...even though I still don't know what the rating's for and in which way it might change the game
I haven't been that much of a Splinter Cell fanboy before, so maybe that's nothing new anyway.
Apart from that this game is bloody awesome. The visuals are without any doubt the best I've ever seen on Xbox. It really looks gorgeous featuring tons of normal mapping and bump-mapping effects. I'd describe it as a mixture between FarCry and Doom 3, combining visual strenghts of both of them.
Oh dear, I sound like a hyping fanboy twat, cause the enemy's AI is superb as well. They're very capricious, talking a hell of a lot things related to their current situations, igniting flares in case it's too dark and searching nearly every corner in case something smells fishy. I've been caught several times thinking "What the feck does HE do here now?!". The same goes for when one of their comrades' gone missing. Their searching radius seem to cover wide parts of each missions' map. You really can't be sure when hiding a body in a dark spot if he's potentially gonna be found or not. Damn neat!
Combat's much more fun as well. Equipped with a knife, you can still initiate instant kill moves in case you get spotted while trying to get an enemy from behind. That gay and unrealistic looking hit & stun maneuver included in SP 1 and 2 is finally gone. But that's not all, there's a whole lot of possibilities to interact with your environment. Throwing enemies over rails into the sea, knocking them over banisters and thus crashing down the stairs and much, much more. It's just so much fun playing around with their new ragdoll bodies. One technique I also love: Luring foes positioned in an abutting room, whistling, and then "BASH DOOR" to knock them unconscious just before they're trying to open that door. Pretty, pretty, joy, joy! But you really need to have good ears and a good timing for that Oh, ears' a good catchword: This game features the best 5.1 sound I have ever heard in any game yet. Period.
Guess that's enough for now. I'm just about five hours into this gem but it's definitely one of the best games I've ever played in our current console generation. Don't miss it.
