Indeed MC had a pretty weird approach to the game. That became apparent when they claimed that railway lines and trains were not part of a city building game.

Didn't Monte Cristo close and someone else bought the franchise (inc. Cities XL) a while back? So this could be potentially good news, but anyone buying this out of the goodness of his heart and some misplaced hope is wrong in my opinion. Just wait for the "demo" next week - if it's good, there won't be anyone happier than me to buy it. Smile

Not sure if I'd have time to try it out. And also, this kind of games require time to get a gasp on. We already know the graphics are good, but the internals are important. Wink

Played the first one for a very short time. Had a shitty PC at that time so just tried at a friends house. Looks the same. So cannot really tell if it "plays" the same but I like it Very Happy Seems really noob friendly. Got tons of achievement for small stuff. Im going in + too Very Happy

Looks interesting actually, but I have some performance problems and it annoys the hell out of me so I rage and quit Very Happy
It stutters when I zoom in/out. I also noticed the fps drop to 10 or less from 60+ when planning a road.

Anyway, so I started the crater scenario and I couldn't figure out how to connect it to other cities. I couldn't build a road because it was too steep going from inside the crater... Confused

This game is actually pretty deep tbh.. goes deeper than simcity 4 ..

Will try it more later.. but looks like some good fun Very Happy

The stuttering is the problem. however i have only tried it with everything maxmaxmax ... so will try later on lower settings Razz

are you actually zoning this time or still placing individual buildings?

do you control full utilities? transit?

You use zones this time around, also the game runs really well for me.

Zooming fully in and out doesn't cause any slowdown at all.

Played it for a bit yesterday and it's much much more to my liking than the previous game.
Thanks to the zones I feel right at home and it gives me the sim city feel.

This might just be the city building game we've been waiting for.

Wow ok... so when you go to the save menu, clicking on a save there will actually load the save!
damn that just screwed me. lol

there was a popup message but I just dismissed it as the usual "do you want to overwrite?" thing and didn't even read it so I guess it's my own fault... but why does it load in the save menu? Sad

@KGen Lower the traffic percentage or put it at 0% from the start. This is should solve all problems with stuttering in huge cities.
