damn some ppl say they fully installed it on hdd and it says 8 GB, also the disc reads DL which means dual layer.
this game is shorter than dmc3 so there has to be alot of extra content as in making of movies, concept shit etc..
i hope some group rips all this crap and puts the game on a dvd5.

No can do, you need to put it in your PC's DVD drive and install a program which can read the size of both layers (windows can only check one layer).
Install this:
http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/
Start it, select the drive it's in from the dropdown menu, right click on DVD in the filetree and select properties. There it will tell you the size in bytes. If it's alot more than 4 700 000 000 bytes it's dual layer.

this game is clearly dvd9, all ppl said it reads "PDDL" on the disc
which means its dual layer aka dvd9.
i ve also checked all my discs, the only dvd9 game i ve got is xenosaga and it says "PDDL" too, the rest are single layered ones and they all say "PDSS"
so its clear now, its a dvd9 game, too bad.

Well i checked my Gt4, which we know is a dvd9 game, and it doesn't say PDDL on the disk anywhere. After that i checked my original of Resident Evil Code Veronica (which we know is a dvd5 game) and i can't locate PDSS. So that's kinda strange......

you have to look at the text arc on the outer side of the disc (front of the disk),
at the end of it it should say something like PDDL-'number'
or PDSS-'number'

I checked it twice and didn't see anything like that on the GT4 disc, it just says that you're prohibited from copying, etc. It's not on the data-side either, there are some letters around the hole in the middle but nothing like PDDL or PDDS.
Or maybe my eyes are just playing tricks on me again :/

well maybe not all discs have it but all i checked did.
either way, i hope there are alot of useless game trailers, reports and making of- movies on that disc, it d be easy to rip onto a dvd5 then.

i cant buy it atm cuz my importseller doesnt take any orders now,
so i ll either get the dvd9 rip if its good,
or dload the full dvd9 game then burn the rar files onto dvd-rw and put em on my friend's laptop, he s got a dual layer writer in it.
i hope it works, my ps2 cant read dvd+r so i m not sure if it s gonna read any
dual layered recordables.

As far as I know DVD9 games wont work even if burned on a DL disc, because they are both completely different file formats.

i remember they split rallisport challenge 2 for xbox on 2 dvd5. but there it was acording to what country you drove in, so it was easy to just change.
maybe gta4 will be harder since its cars instead?

Well guys, I have been hearing that it's been ripped down to DVD5. I go to a torrent site and one of the members there on the boards said that he bought it like yesterday and fooled around with the files finding around 5GB of dummy files!!! He said he ripped them out and so far the game was working good for him but he was only playing it for like 5 min. He also said if he plays through it later today he is going to upload it later tonight. Thanx.
