meh that soundthing with crowds is stupid.. must make audio cd and rip it to 360 hdd.. would be so much better to just add mp3s to the hdd

I played some yesterday. I have to say, at first I was wondering what was really different from last year, but the more I play the more I realize it is one of the biggest changes the last years. There´s a big difference in that the ball is no longer "glued" to a players feet, but at the same time some players are really good at keeping the opposition at bay and defend the ball if they have that ability. I think the game feels more alive and less on rails on the midfield. The one thing that PES has had over FIFA the last years. It is also easier to shoot from a distance and score on headers/corners/crossings.
There are some bugs though as some of the collission detection feels weird and players "bounce" off each other in an unrealtistic way when they clash. And FINALLY we can save the replays locally but I am still disappointed.
Why does it have to save it as a low res movie file? It takes 1-2 minutes to save it. Howcome some sports game have alllows you to replay the whole match if you want - in any angle. Here only the last 15 seconds or so. Why is that? I want to be able to view the whold buildup and everything, not just the goal. It is not like there´s a lot more information in this game than any other. And MAX 5 clips locally?
I am very happy it is possible to save replays locally but WTF - why didn´t they do MORE when they had the chance? Even in early 90´s games you could do WAY more with replays than this shit.

yeah atlast save replays but so small picture so not fun.. what a fail on that one.. they should skipped the be a goalkeeper crap and put better futures for saving replays instead
but i enjoy this game alot more than fifa 10.. fun with updated teams and so on..

360 or ps3? if its 360 then you need a data transfer cable.

Is it the improvement we needed?

Not for me, went back to PES after getting fed up with FIFA 10 and 11 hasn't made hardly any improvement for me, as well as PES 2011 being a superb game anyway.

It is absolutely brilliant. It is closer to realism than ever before. PES is good for an arcade game but the improvements this year really makes a lot of difference to the game play. This comes from an old PES fan.
Long/cross balls work a lot better, it is easier to score both from corners and goal kicks, they have allowed even more customization on the manual/auto/semi settings and how players switch and so forth. Now they really battle for the ball up close and is a lot more unpredictable on the outcome. The one thing I thibk PES has done better the last years. A huge improvement. Also, more perosnalized players with special playing styles and custom moves. Tempo is also slower which is more realistic (but heasrd rumors that the 1.1 patch speeds things up again, so keep offline until they fix that.
You have to play a few games to really discover all the new stuff - but it´s by FAR the best football sim ever to be released. I was not so thrilled with 10, but this is great stuff.
Only thing that still sucks is the replay function and that they can´t more faces right. PES is still better there.
Also, I prefer playing on the Co op camera angle after Fifa world cup this summer. Makes it a lot easier to plan your play ahead.

From what I understand the PC version is last years version, or actually the WC game this year. In other words, it is different and does not have all the improvements from this year. It´s however nice to see the PC is finally getting the updated game engine that is miles ahead of previous years for the PC. Very much doubt it´s worth shelling out the cash for the PS3 version though...if you are happy with how the PC version plays.
The PC version has its advantages though with better res, more customizable with mods I guess and so forth. I´ve also heard that the PS3 version suffers from some pretty bad loading times, i have the 360 version with game installed to HDD.

been playing this a few days now, i'll openly admit ive been a pes fan right up until pes6 from then onwards it went tits up and clearly only cared about sales instead of listening to the real fans,i've given the pes demo alot of time this year as it has vastly improved and can't wait to see the final retail in action, for me fifa is great and having the licences does help sales,but i have to admit after playing fifa 10 for the past 4 months i have to say its very similar to that,problem being i've always found it to easy,more annoyingly is in fifa 10 i always find the computer on hardest level when one on one with the keeper seem to be reluctant to shoot and its carried over into fifa 11 and its so frustrating as it just makes the game so easy you pretty much know the computer could hump you 3-0 if not more if they tucked these chances away,apart from that new passing system although new isn't really any different to previous years,like the ref's quick whistles(nice touch)good game but i look forward to pes to see if these changes can finally challenge fifa after years of disapointment

FIFA isnt a massive step forward this year but its still better thatn PES. PES although better is still clunky due to fewer animations and the keepers are dodgy as fuck sometimes.
On another note is there any noticable differences between XBOX and PS3 for this game. Thinking of getting XBOX for online play due to Jailbreak PS3 ..ta

VP as goalkeeper is boring, what also contributes to this is that the ai doesn't shoot from 30 meters or so, they always want to get close.

Aye, I can confirm pretty much everything you said, the PC version is basically a straight port of FIFA 10 console with some minor gameplay adjustments/fixes, updated rosters and renewed turfs. 
This means that FIFA 11 PC doesn't have neither the Career mode nor the Personality+/Pro Passing, though it's overall a huge step forward from the horrible PS2 port that was FIFA 10.  |

This game is easily worth buying a console for (or getting your ps3 version over pc) that said, I've never been a fan of playing the AI in fifa but online to me is where it matters and this game shines online. I'd love to see pes get back to the force it once was also for some competition but that game seems to have died with 6, so for now, fifa is king.

Well after playing online and offline this game is not very good lol.
How on earth these reviewers get away with calling this the best football game bar none is nothing short of criminal.
It's crap.
You still cannot go past players unless you use a skill move, not even walk past them.
Shooting has improved but all you do now 1v1 is press the r1 button and shoot to curl it in the net.
Online is buggy as hell.
If this isn;'t fixed.
This game will get the pro evo treatment.
Seriously over advertised.
Pull your finger out E.A Time to earn your money.

I'm not saying this game is perfect but some of the points you have raised are misleading..you can go past people and it's not that hard and you don't have to use skill moves..sk to be fair that points total rubbish..and if you think it's that easy to score do yourself a favour and play using full manual contols
