Flak jacket only protects against explosives.

Also, you could argue that that would be realistic. A bullet-proof vest for example, isn't designed to protect against knives and therefore they don't.

Actually bullet-proof vests are moderately effective against knives, IRL. Unless you have an unusually big knife, or you aim for the unprotected areas to 'score' a critical hit (throat, face) you usually won't get a one-hit kill.

Obviously I'm not talking about "one-hit kills". The point is, penetrating a regular bullet-proof vest isn't too hard with a sharp knife.

AFAIK bulletproof vests don't help much against knives. Cause the bouncers here in Sweden mostly wear vests that are against puncturing and slashing thingies, such as knives.

Exactly. AFAIK, only military-issue body armor protects against both projectiles and blades (In one "vest" that is).

Don't you think that it's a wee bit stupid to think that a vest which stops the kinetic impacts of bullets, which is significantly higher then a knife, would be perforated by a knife?

I actually don't think there are any vests that don't stop knife attacks. Sure, it might hurt you a bit, because the material itself is flexible, but you won't get more then a bruise.

And in these games you play as a member of various military forces...

Hey, I was using the same language they were. And I believe its shrapnel. Smug I also believe you can use the words "flak jacket" to refer to actual bullet proof vests, body armour, ballistic vests, etc. Same shit different names.

Yup, that's also what I think of when I hear flack jacket, which is basically a bulletproof vest but for some reason they made is specific to only explosives in CoD games. o.O

I read that somewhere?
Can't be true?
It's been in the works for like a year max hasn't it?

But that speculation proved to be bullshit, they would have sold it as DLC by now if they were going to, little point with black ops so close.

Looking at it it seems to be have very heavily taken from MW2 as well (mainly the best bits thank god) so hard to see how it would cost so much.

Dont mix up BLIZZARD and ACTIVISION. Bobby Kotick is the CEO of Activision. Yes the company is called Activision Blizzard but Blizzard so far hasnt done anything stupid like Bobby wants things to be done and also they have so far never relesed a game under the company name of Activision Blizzard. If indeed the day comes when Blizzard will actually take Bobbies advice then the world is over!

No LAN, forced B.Net, region locking, validated maps, etc, in SC2.

No LAN in D3 to begin with.

Blizzard has done a lot of stupid things since it was "bought" by Activision.

Latest interesting tweets:

Q: Will the issue of the "pick-up weapon" button being the same as plant/defuse be rectified?
A: Objectives always take priority over weapon pickups. MP lead engineer 'Yer' took care of that nonsense.

Look at this:

Remember the unlockable golden guns from Call of Duty 4? They will be available in Black Ops, if Vahn (MP Design Director) is to be believed. When asked if the game will feature golden guns: David "Vahn" Vonderhaar:
"Always bet on Black. Well Black and Gold."
