You arent serious I hope. Comparing those two games. They are not in the same league.

Question on Roads... Since it costs gold to maintain them now, im cutting back on tattooing the country side with them...
One thing im wondering tho... Do we need them on mines and or resources tiles (do we need a road from our city to the resource, or is converting the land enough to gain it)?

You do not need roads to connect resources. They are automatically connected from the improvements you build on them.
This i personally like. Roads are only needed to connect cities / enhance movement of units.

The only thing missing until now is a throne room or a palace to upgrade, like in the old Civs.

I haven't reached the space race yet, but if true, then this can be added to my list.
If anybody cares: there is a +14 trainer on gcw that works with the skidrow release.

Hey,
I have a problem in DX9 mode: high res textures won't load properly. Every time I browse a different portion of the map, it takes 3-5 secs for the textures to load.
I don't have this issue in DX10/11 mode but I'd like to stick to DX9 because it is much smoother.
Has anyone encountered this yet ?

Are you using the same quality settings in both modes?

I'm using more demanding settings in DX10/11 (pretty much everything to high, contrary to medium for DX9)

It's swaping, nothing strange. This game is somewhat demanding on the resources. From insane amount of LUA running to the SQL server it runs.
Asus, B550, 3700X, 3060, 32GB.

DLC, tested on SkidRow release. Just copy the files in the installation folder, accept the overwrite and have fun.

Now I think I read somewhere DX10 allows texture swapping transfert from CPU to GPU. It may happen to us because our CPU is limited.

I dont get the option to choose so you probably use the Launcher which is wrong if you read the info.
Just start the other executables which are pointing out to direct9 or higher.
Empty again

Is it normal that after completing the tech tree the future tech node keeps getting researched forever?

Yeah, it's been like that as far as I can remember. Each level of Future Tech you manage to research adds to your final score, or at least that's what it did in Civ4. There it also gave your cities +1 health and +1 happiness per level.
I'm guessing that's been tweaked to some extent in Civ5.

Is it possible somehow to unlock all social policies even if some of them contradict one another?
