Oh jeez what an over rated game, played a few hours that new Civ and I am already bored to death. Dumbed down gameplay, weirdo UI, buggy, etc. Yet it got amazing -industrially correct- reviews while -imho- far more "innovative" and funny games like Ruse (singleplayer campaign aside) were half-trashed and largely ignored... Well i guess you know which game I will play right now despite the usual pavlovian ratings...

Game runs like a dog on my system. Intro movie skips and stutters - so turned it off. And playing with 10 people next turns take a damn sure long time. :/ Not like half a minute, but would be nice if it were quicker than that. . .blargh.

Ah, looks nice, but I'd personally go for modifying production costs, like Standard costs for an Epic game, instead of tile yields, which seems to needlessly complicate things for the modder. In the end the result is presumably the same, but calculations on the creator's side are minimal.

I don't think that would work. It would only increase build speed, reserch would still be too high.
Although, it may be that reserch speed only appears to be high because you speed through turns while production is slow.

I am finding this one of the harder civ games in terms of keeping your people happy + making gold.. althou i am playing on like.. medium/hard
I was a bit wary about how its civ wide happiness compared to city wide.. but that was open to some pretty big exploits in civ4 imho.. good change i think

The whole point of this kind of mod is to keep the game slow research and time-wise according to the chosen pace, but speed up (especially military) production so that there can be more room for action in that lengthened period of time. If you're going to speed up everything, just use a faster pace setting.

Also, I may be wrong, but Civ5 has CEG protection, which means that every exe is specific to particular machine it's installed on. Sharing it wouldn't do any good, as far as I understand (you couldn't bypass it with RevLoader or something, exempt on single machine were game was legally installed anyway).

Correct in a way from how I understood it, CEG is used on most newer Steam titles but apparently the files work if used via a Steam emulator, files will validate and then update and work if I've understood it correctly, I'm not very certain on how it works.

Only thing i've got problem with is LAN...it refuse to connect to games in my LAN after I've found them (using the original game) so even though me and my gf sits like 2m from each other we still have to play over the net. Stupid.
Also, is there any way of activating so you see your forces actually move correct rather than quickwalk in multiplayer? I'd also want the animated screens with civilizations leaders to appear in MP rather than just text. I understand why they've done it like so, to increase speed in internet games...but I play with mates usually and all of us want to be able to decide whats visible on the screen and whats not.. however, I might have missed some odd sub-menu?
Edit:
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
