SecuROM I think is what most editions will use though I'm not certain about this.

Got my copy too. Smile

Can confirm it has english audio(pretty good one too),but haven't been able to locate any trace of english text... :/

Odd enough,the polish version doesn't have locale.db4 like the others,only locale.npk.
Gotta continue tweaking and searching.

I can upload the english files if someone is interested. Smile

ps. The polish version has Starforce.

NPK is that main archive isn't it, perhaps bundled the audio and text together.
(Main folder if so, same for the original assets like textures.)

http://mods.jo-ge.net/dsa4/english.htm

Might let you unpack it and see what's actually in there.

Thanks for the link.

Quick check confirms that locale.npk doesn't hold any dialogues, only some dds files.
There is however a game.dat file located in the db folder(the same that holds the db4 files) that is the same size as locale.db4 in de/ita/spa releases.

Know any tool that opens .dat?

I did try adding the english voices to the german rls along with the fan translated english texts.
Worked fine and now I can listen to the voices rather than read the funny lines google translate produces. Very Happy

Still waiting for the actual english release to play it properly, but this will suffice for now. Smile

Then that's most likely impossible as .dat could easily be a Star-Force encrypted data file, nearly impossible to work with though groups like Trivium have had limited success with altering them in certain game related cracks.

Likely to contain the localization data and as a means of protection from extracting it, interesting that you managed to get it to load a locale.db4 file over it though. Smile

Seems you were correrct...the game.dat is starforce encrypted. There goes that then I guess. :/

Somehow I still think it only contains polish, although it's weird it is SF protected seeing as the other versions have a normal locale.db4 file.

I didn't get it to load locale.db4 instead of game.dat. I just copied the english voices over to the german 0x0007 release. Smile

Polish release has complete english voice-over. Only thing missing is the journal/character stats/items/ability&spell descriiptions (most of which they have from the first game btw). Other than that, you just have to write the voice-overs down to recieve subtitles and voila, you're done. Strange that it takes so much time. I suppose it's more connected to the legal issues (deals with a publisher and so on).

Game is quite good btw, better than the first one. Storytelling is much better, and the story itself is less cheesy. The atmosphere is also quite nice. Only bad thing is, that after Dragon Age, Drakensang's combat is realy hard to swallow at times (at least for me). I don't mind the complicacy (hell, I enjoy it), but what I do mind, is having to wait and wait during an encounter, watching my character side-step needlesly and make one strike every several seconds. Boooorrrrrinnngg. Not exactly the brightest design decision gameplay-wise.

It's still a good game though. Enjoyed it from start to finish, nonetheless.

Sorry, it's nopt a full V/O.

Go to the city and listen to ambient dialogues. Or just listen to what your companions have to say out of dialogue ( their comments ).

Listen? Oh my, I'm so sorry, I meant READ what they have to say. Unlike in the german release those things are not voiced.

I hoope that the proper english release will be...well, proper Very Happy

Ah yes, that's true. The character dialogues were irritating too, because I missed them sometimes, having companions behind me and not seeing some random comments appearing above their headsl.

All subtitles are french, as far as I know this also covers the menu screens and similar (Via a archive file, not the same archive as for text data but for texture data and such.)

It's also updated and I don't think the previous translation works all that well with the patched version of the game.

Ofcourse neither localization (Above Polish and this French.) includes any content from the German addon either.
(Neither include any other text data either so they're not multi-language aside from using English voiceovers.)

Looking forward to this, first game was very good, a bit to easy at the end tho.

Biggest problem was that you could get good on to many things, it seems they have fixed this in this game.

It looks like the full English version might be released soon. The Benelux version supposedly has full English audio and text. Shops in the Netherlands have it listed as being released this Friday and the one below just today changed the status from shipping Friday to in-stock.

In this thread an official poster (months ago) said it was all in English. Someone who ordered the game said that it had already shipped to them.
