There was on the original game, though you had to finish it twice times to unlock it.

anyone got this running on XP? using the skidrow version, after installing the Visual Studio 2010 redistributable, when launching the game via the launcher or cracked .EXE, the program just sits there in task manager process, nothing comes up.
thanks in advance.

Resident Evil 5 didn't have SSA, so it could work with any generic GFWL key. Dead Rising 2 *does* have SSA and thus *doesn't* work with GFWL keys, so there was no reason for Skidrow to enable the Live menu.
If you want to play online, buy it.
Cry about it some more?

Period.
It's just an artificial longevity increaser and most normal people don't want to have continually replay the game, over and over and over, just so they can progress and not have to worry about a constant timer. But hey, that's like... my opinion.. man. |
Wrong, it works. It's fun. The proof is in the playing.
on a typical game YES, of course it's to increase gamplay time, and maybe it was also a factor in DR BUT it doesn't matter because it is FUN and that is why we play games.
If you wanted a linear point a to point b treck with quicksaves there are a hundred games like that out there and MOST of them are actually not fun because of it. DR takes elements from RPG griding but just twists it a little. It's not 'perfect' but it was different and a large reason as to why the game has such a cult following. Problem is these days everyone just wants to 'consume' media and be done, move on, DR makes you actually PLAY not observe or walk through. The 'restarting' isn't a problem, it's exactly the same kind of addictive gameplay we had for years in the arcades, you know that real addictive stuff before everything became dull and boring and short lived?
There will always be those who can't stand DR's way of doing things, that's fair enough, but having played through the original many times I can say it was always fun and never used the cheap trick of 'get to next area ONLY to see it then move on' as an incentive. It was a fully realised environment, the problem was a lot of people wanted true sandbox style (ala GTA) or linear slog (AKA COD) they couldn't take this in-between style, but ti's this style that gives it the edge and makes this old and jaded gamer actually feel the fun in games again. Look at all those shitty games where you have to restart (chapters) at checkpoints but they DO NOT save your levels, that is way way worse, there's no fun in that yet nearly all games do it in modern times. In this game, IF and ONLY IF you mess up and miss your target, or choose to explore instead you are actually rewarded so it doesn't feel like a blow, you don't feel like giving up because you think 'hey, I may have died or fkd up but at least this time i'm stronger/faster and can't wait to get back and try that section again'.
You can liken it to arcade games of the past in that respect but with an ever opening environment and story. Believe it or not some people like re-doing tasks in games, just like in Shoot-em-ups of the past, learning the weak points of bosses, learning the best approach to saving victims etc all while being rewarded with level.
Artificial game time expansion be damned, if it didn't do this and they made the mall/vegas 100 times larger and you never repeated anything it wouldn't be any more fun, it would be less so cos your focus would always be on 'next next next' without taking in the game properly and actually PLAYING it rather than walking through like a linear story.
DR one always brought out this discussion between those that loved it and those that didn't, and both opinions are valid but if you don't like it doesn't mean others don't think it's one of the best games ever made.

Uh. I played it. I didn't think it was fun. Therefore I'm wrong? Opinion, you might want to look up the definition.

is wireless x360 controller working then for this?.
if not,anyone tried dropping
x360ce.ini & xinput1_3.dll
into the games exe folder to get wireless x360 controller working?,
i use them to fix every other game with dodgy wireless support with good success.
my dead risings in a large dl que so can't test myself & pointless me getting this to play on k&m if my usual wireless fix is no good.

@mroussev
If with "Live" you mean having the GFWL interface with achievements/controller support WITHOUT the online functionalities, then you've got a point, since F1 2010 uses the SSA as well and the cracked version has both achievements and full controller support.
