Well, I had got the early access demo code from Gamespot. Downloaded the demo via Steam, which was a whopping 2.6GB installation. I later on found that it was essentially the full game, but would only allow access to the first level, post which it would prompt you to unlock the full game by purchasing it.

I got the THETA crack. It has 2 files in it; lcgol.exe & smoke_api.dll. The former is the main cracked exe. The Steam version had lcgol_demo.exe. So all I did was rename that file to lcgol.exe and over-wrote it with the THETA crack & VOILA! Operation successful.

I hope this was clear enough for you to understand.

Your welcome. The game is totally kick-ass. Time to go co-op now. I wish they would release Shank & Scott Pilgrim V/S The World on PC too. Arcade games like these are gem to miss on any platform. Regret not having a JTAG'd Xbox 360.

Apologies for not checking them sooner. All PM's replied. Hope we don't run into any issues later on in the game.

So is it safe to apply the two cracked files from THETA to the Steam demo?
Isn't there a chance of getting banned? Sad

Steam should be fully disconnected with those files replaced but to minimize risk don't run it in the background when you want to play the game and make sure it doesn't try to start up when you launch the game and it shouldn't be able to report anything, it's doubtful it could anyhow (It would see it as running the demo if anything at all.) as Steam isn't all that intrusive but not worth taking the risk. Great game so far. Some of the jumping puzzles are annoying but that's common on the genre. What I don't like is the occasional crash or freeze. And then when you restart the game you are way the fuck back somewhere else. I think the only solution to that is to occasionally quit the game (all the way to windows) so it hard saves your position. When you hear the jingle it's not saving your position to disk so if you have a crash/lockup you're back to the last place you quit the game at. Happened to me once when I hit the ` and got just a white screen instead of the inventory screen. And once more on that section where you have to keep jumping up the moving walls. Got to the top and it CTD's my ass. ugh. Other than that though I'm digging it (fully realizing that the bugs could very well be due to the, uhh, demo version. Smile

Laughing Very Happy

I yearn for local co-op. There are hardly any games these days which support local co-op decently.

It *is* partially a platformer, but an easy one at that, how the hell can you screw up the jumping when there's jump assist Very Happy

Just quitting to the menu does that already Smile

Sometimes the jump assist isn't working. One time you can stand on a stone, press up and left and jump and land on the next stone. The next time it might miss to either the right or left. It's not consistent.

And I realized the "save" doesn't save the last jingle checkpoint like I thought. For me, on the first level, the last "save" location was all the way back at the health restorer.

No big deal though. I'm still enjoying it Smile
