Remember the days of the 16k-56K modems?Razz

How patient we were for our releases back then. I expect Skiddies with an update, the DLC and the preorder maps, just to excuse themselves that they've missed a trigger. From what I gather the game it's riddled with DRM.

My copy will arrive next week, so I'll have to wait until then. I really hope that Take2 will release the DLC and the preorder maps for people that missed them.

Back in the day when I first used the internet, my statement was "I'm downloading at 56 Kb/s", Amazing!!

Now it's, "wtf is wrong with this torrent, only 3 Mb/s ?!"

Laughing

The thing is, kids today cannot appreciate the difference, they never knew the older days of the internet and the excitment of downloading something at 56 Kb/s, unless they're from North Korea ofc Laughing

56 KB/s download =! 56kbit download

56 KB/s download = 512-ish kbit download

I remember downloading Nintendo 64 roms at 4 KB/s at the very most, on my 56k dial-up connection, ten years ago. Star Fox 64 was 10 MB and it took like more than an hour to download. Zelda: Ocarina of Time was 25 MB and it took even longer! OMG! Anything bigger was simply unthinkable.

I remember copying files from one computer to another via the COM port. Now that was slow. Somewhat better than dialup but you'd be sitting around for hours.

@human_steel - skidrow's version is the same as official patch that was just out (1.0.0.17). The original exes before patch I believe were 1.0.0.7.
So it's nice to see skidrow's has the crack + patch included.

It's not that far fetched to expect it outside of those places either. Or maybe I'm just looking forward to the fibre rollout in my neck of the woods. Although it's possible to get 100mbit fibre already in various parts of my state on a residential connection.
