BLACK SCREEN INTRO FIX
First, if you get a black screen during the opening videos (THQ etc.), there is a simple fix:
Go to ...\Darksiders\media\videos and rename or delete the AMD_Logo_movie.wmv file. While you're at it, you can also rename the THQ_Logo1280x720.wmv and Vigil_Logo1280x720.wmv videos if you want a completel no-intro fix.
BONUS GOODIES
To install the Darksiders Soundtrack, Comic and PC Manual, simply run the cracked DSInstaller.exe file from the ...\Darksiders\ directory. These create Desktop shortcuts and install into C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Darksiders\ by default without an option to customize. Uninstall the "DSInstaller" entry later to remove these bonus items.
Finally, for those who can't be bothered to read the PC Manual or readme file included with the game, read on.

I would close Steam down first just to be safe. I do imagine SKiDROW removed all Steam tie-in functionality, but who knows?

No Steam pop-up here as usual did you copy all the crack acordingly ?
game runs fine no bugs, could change all my controls easily,
who uses default controls anyway ? playing with mouse+kb (my beloved arrow keys)
with no problems at all, I thought I'd have to use glovepie or something
but the key mappings is right there in the options took 2 minutes to set up !
played 5 minutes when I could and looks great but the blood was black haha
needs a blood/gore mod !

Finally finished downloading and played a bit. M&K works surprisingly well so far. Got no problems with it (yet). Sadly, you can't unlock some special weapons via codes (Gamestop and such) like on the Derp360 (Seen it in playthroughs on youtube).
Btw, the game doesn't look that bad like on Hfric's screenshots. Dunno why but it does look a bit better on my screen.

Well, the game works fine here, and illz55... you can see/change the keyboard controls in-game if you don't have a controller connected.
The lack of gfx options sucks, but the game is fun and M&K works great.

Is anyone getting solid 60fps? i get 30-40 and both my gpus are at 70%. What a joke.

Didn't check the FPS with fraps, but I had no slowdowns, so it's fine.
edit: Yes, I have 60fps, played a bit in some dungeon, can't check the city now.

If you have Crossfire, try disabling it for this game. I've heard this game runs crappy with more than 1 GPU.

At the moment it interferes with my steering wheel + pedals. It overrides my keyboard, and assumes i'm gonna play with a steering wheel. Is there any setting / config file to force the keyboard as the main controller ?

No apparently the settings files are in .bin format and impossible to alter, it seems to default to a gamepad or other device above keyboard when plugged in it seems.

Stranglehold had all the movies in game rendered to bink files. Turok was not like that but still  .
Both games' rips were 5GB each. |

It's actually pretty good. I grew up with Zelda though, so that might be why I like it. I played a short while only, it supposedly opens up and gets better later on. If you like console RPG's, you surely must play this one. I for one think teh PC lacks such games, not everything has to be overly comlpex. The first 20 minutes or so are not exactly representative of the game since it's all-out combat, the dungeon crawling parts ala Zelda are much more entertaining.

fyi game comes in 7 and 4gb repack varieties now
i feel kinda iffy about the 4gb... its recoded movies and mentions installation of additional software, which might be just some irrelevant shit i probably already have on my pc, but id rather avoid it unless i know what it is... 7gb sounds like the better option unless i find out more about the 4gb one, in which case ill grab that one.

Pretty awesome from what I've seen thus far, which, admitting, is not a lot. Reminds me of God of War and Prototype a bit. It doesn't seem as deep as God of War, but perhaps it will have more moves and variety as you progress. The lore is pretty wild, the graphics and animations great and the action is fierce and explosive. I think this is a game better played with a controller. It's got full XBOX 360 controller functionality, including showing you the keys and such to do things. I think it will be a fairly simplistic and straight forward hack and slash, but one with plenty of big fights and huge bosses. It's definitely a game I can see myself playing all the way through.
