anyone using some gfx improvement mods with this mod ? If so let me know , wanna experience the best possible gfx |
i think it got some of them already preloaded, as game install in another location and such, its not like simple "mod "file that you just enable, so not sure if others even work

so this is a totally different game that installs in another location rather than touching or modifying any of Oblivion's files? and Oblivion will still be the vanilla Oblivion without mods?

Just finished with the starter dungeon (took me 1:08, but I'm pretty thorough and like to check every corner) and wow, I'm pretty damn impressed so far.
The voice-acting so far has been top-notch; I have heard much worse in commercial games. The first area at least was very well-made and all the small details everywhere is just great - much, much better than the copy/paste dungeons of Oblivion. There were some minor puzzles already, and the scripted sequences (like the mine ceiling collapsing and bringing in daylight) are very cool.
There's quite a few things reminiscent of Gothic games, such as having to purchase skills to be able to extract valuable parts from animals, the LP system and so on. Crafting system seems quite intricate as well, and some items that were mere clutter in Oblivion (mining pick, shovel, tongs etc.) are used for various things and/or crafting now. So grab those items that have (T) after their name!
Combat so far hasn't been particularly hard, I didn't change the difficulty setting at all so will have to see if it ramps up after the starter dungeon.
Impossible to tell definitely at this point of course, but all in all it seems very promising!
Here's some screens I took, all are at 1920x1200 so not img tagging them.
Dialogue (very small spoiler I guess, shouldn't be a problem unless you're a crybaby)

Acer:
Use the Nehrim launcher and check that you have the nehrim esm/esps selected, and ONLY them.
ruud28:
Yeah the Nehrim installer creates a new folder & copies the necessary Oblivion files into it - effectively creating two copies of Oblivion. Your original Oblivion install will be untouched.

Played abit around the mines, pretty lackluster and boring. You kinda get the meh feeling running around killing trolls.
Nothing special really...

Well, its not the mods fault if you choose to play it that way. There is a full 40 hour campaign with a great story.

Getting 1550 KB/s from filefront here in the US. I tried Oblivion with FCOM and had stability issues so having a whole and complete mod like this is much appreciated. Don't mind the German voice overs. Those screenshots look nice.

So uhm, which version of oblivion will this work with, I'm in the dark, as I have never played oblivion for more than 30 minutes.
Also, are any gfx mods out there that work with this one?

There aren't any, but the game is much more prettier than Oblivion imho.

You don't need the DLC's or Shivering Isles, just make sure you have the latest official patch installed before installing Nehrim.
