Darren Aronofsky's latest movie Black Swan was assigned an R rating for "strong sexual content, disturbing violent images, language and some drug use." Starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis as rival ballet dancers, the thriller opens in limited release on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Just read the script to this , pretty awesome

ALSO had the script to Tron Legacy by Richard Jefferies , and some major changes have been made by Horowitz and Kitsis so there's no point in me finishing it

"A thriller that hones in on the relationship between a veteran ballet dancer and a rival."

Plot sounds fantastic...

Looks very interesting. I love Aronofsky's films. Can you believe in one point he was to direct Watchmen? One can only wonder what a masterpiece this would have been, instead of that hack Snyder. Mad

Look at the bright side, at least Watchmen wasn't directed by Jon Favreau or Michael Bay Laughing

(Even though I've never read the comic, I found the movie to be overall well made and surprisingly "deep" Smile )

My point exactly, as a stand alone work, Watchmen was a masterpiece, I have never experienced the novel, and I recognize that it might be superior and far more complex in every way, but it still was a extremely enjoying movie.

Perhaps if I had knowledge of the novel beforehand, and then watched the movie, I could have been taking Leo's side and stating that it wasn't even close to the quality of the novel.

I would say that without reading the novel, the movie is only slightly inferior to The Dark Knight (and I relate the two because of the dystopian ending both got)

No idea why you insist to keep bringing the novel, when it has little to do with that. It's just bad. Characters are not developed, the story and dialog as told by Snyder is laughable. The whole project is pathetic really. There were only two scenes which were nice in Snyder's Watchmen. Cool Face

@ixigia I honestly don't see Bay doing any worse job than Snyder. One has exactly as much ability to portray a coherent story, characters and dialog as the other.

I mean wow, even Paul Greengrass was attached to the project at some point. Crying or Very sad

Right from a previous conversation:

No, not just that. Lord of the Rings had changes, and you won't hear one bad word from me about the films or Jackson. No, my problem with Watchmen and indeed with Snyder is that he is a hack. He cannot direct or convey characters, character development, coherent story, story development; any of that. He has a good visual taste, and I am not entirely sure he is to be credited even for that, but that's about it. Now, it worked fine with 300, because the source wasn't much deeper than the flick. But with something as deep as Watchmen, it was a mess. It was just tedious, very bad make, and with the "director's cut" it gets even worse, which should speak volumes on the project as a whole.
Perhaps Snyder will grow as experience piles, or perhaps find someone to do it for him, and in the future he will combine that good visual style with coherent story telling, but it is sad that it has to happen on the expense of Watchmen.

Eh it's true, it was decent. And 300 was also nice. But these are completely different flicks than Watchmen. These were "check your brain out at the lobby" kind of flicks, and were alright in that regard, 300 especially had great style. But come on, you can't really say they had any story whatsoever. I've only appreciated the last three Aronofksy's pictures - The Wrester, The Fountain and Requiem for a Dream. Really enjoyed this stuff. He's without a doubt talented. And the Black Swan's script in all verity intrigues me. Smile Will stay tuned on this one.
