Pes has better graphic than Fifa, way better. And seriously, the photographers? Who the fuck cares about them ? I don't even notice them, but you not being a soccer guy explains it
Just checked a FIFA 11 gameplay video and you know what? SPRITES! ._. Seriously, WTF!? A little bit inside of me just died knowing that they want the players to look überrealistic but don't care for the rest so they use sprites. But still, imo, Fifa does look better, but that might be due to personal taste.
Also, I was watching the animations when looking at that PES movie, because everyone talked about it and still noticed the sprites
They hardly handle the fps on the pitch, imagine the slowdowns if they had to render the crowd, etc in 3d. And for what?
The almighty gran turismo 5 coming this fall makes use of clever (some less clever) 2d sprites all over the place to achieve the 1080p and 60fps.

personally I don't have problems with 2d cardboards as long as the texture is good enough and if it blends well in the surrounding.

Can't say that I agree, I don't know about Fifa 11, but Pes 11 is surely better than Fifa 10 consoles. Maybe Fifa has better animations but thats it. But I feel we had this argument before

what ? deeper gameplay ? there is not a single drop of real football in pes2010.Im a crazy football fan and im telling u this is the most braindead football game ever.Its some robot like guys with zombie like faces running aimlessly on the pitch.The Ai is beyond retarded playing like children on the street, no sense in defense nothing.The attacks that u can mmake are simple and pathetic u can actually 10 times in a match run from the center to wing and make a perfect cross almost everytime and thats it.If u like football just stay away from this cheap crap.Fifa on the other hand is far from perfect ofcourse but is the only game coming real close to what a video game for football should be.

Well, I was talking about PES 11 compared to fifa10 aka fifa11 PC. But we'll see. In the same time I'm not saying fifa is bad, in fact I've spend more time playing it than PES. But there is something I miss. The feeling of the old PES games 4,5,6. And people are saying it's back in PES 11. If that's true then Fifa will be in serious trouble.

But that's just it, I have been hearing this from "people" about every title, and it has been a disappointment every year. People like Ivan here who are clearly in denial. I don't trust the fanboys any more than I trust EA to make a "next gen" () title. I guess it will come down to the demos to see which one.
The trouble with FIFA, as confirmed by their own developers recently, is that the attributes of players essentially don't mean a thing. Only speed, strength and supposedly stamina - but even then it's so subtle to the point of being meaningless. This is what separates many PES/football fans longing for the king to return. I've not bought a copy of PES for a long time now, but I'm yearning for it to come back because as good as FIFA is (especially online) it just doesn't do it for me in singleplayer where you need that depth and dynamism the old games brought to the table.
I've played the PES 2011 demo and from first impressions it's a vast improvement. I'm not convinced by all the talk of them having 'overhauled' the game, as it still feels like more of a refinement of the existing systems, but it's on the right track. If last years was comparable to the improvements made in FIFA 08, then this is a combination of UEFA 08 and FIFA 09.
It's difficult to judge from just a short demo though, so I'm still only going to be renting this.

Maybe it's subjective, they do have different artistic styles. I have to say I prefer PES also, always have, it's looks sharper and of a higher resolution - some of the less fluid stick man animations can ruin that but I've always gotten a better impression of individuality from the players not just in how they behave but in how they look.

Haha, why I'm in denial. I didn't say that Pes 10 was a great game, neither was 09 and 08. I was actually excited about Fifa 11 PC, and then I got screwed again by EA. I hate EA, they are lying motherfuckers, if that makes me a fanboy, ok I am.
On the other hand, you've played two games of Fifa 10 consoles, you have never played Pes 11, and you say its better. What that does tell you about being a fan boy I've played Fifa 10 consoles a lot, maybe even more than Pes 10, and I say I don't like it. Its okay for having fun with friends but its not a serious football game, its just for fun. I prefer playing the older games of PES than Fifa 10. I'm having way more fun and it actually feels rewarding and games look different. After ten games of Fifa you will feel that too, everything you do is the same.
You can play the game you want, its down to preference. But saying that Fifa has better graphic than Pes when it clearly doesen't is stupid(no offense) or you're doing it just to piss me off

If you compare PES10 to FIFA 10 console, there is simply no comparison. I need not play it 1000 times to notice better graphical features of one over the other.

FIFA 11 PC will be pratically identical to FIFA 10 console, while FIFA 11 console will contain several different new features and a slightly improved Career mode if compared to its predecessor. Though the core gameplay and the physics won't differ too much from the "old" FIFA 10.
It's certainly not a good thing having a PC version inferior to the console one (you know they need to pump the console sales etc.), but at least they completely dropped the PS2 engine from 2003
