Seems sony will put mandatory updates for new games etc like for psp, and what fun is it to play games when u cant access psn, kinda pointless.

I never trust those complaints. Sony puts out a firmware blocking piracy... and *suddenly* there are hundreds of complaints from "legitimate" gamers all claiming the firmware is giving them problems and damaging their machine?
*sniff sniff* Yeup, I smell bullshit.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. It's the same manner of what "legitimate" gamers do every year, like clockwork, after the 360 banhammer strikes.
"I never pirated anything!!!111 I got banned and I'm a legitimate gamer!!!11"

I'm not sure mate, that was the only one I knew of that was regularly updated and kept in one place. On a more positive note; game over Sony!

The PlayStation 3 was first released on November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America, March 16, 2007 in the United Kingdom and Ireland and March 23, 2007 in mainland Europe and Oceania
so.. less than 4.. still not bad..

It's the software development kit, or rather a non-Sony open source one. It allows developers to now write their own software for the PS3 without infringing on Sony's patents - or breaking the law - by using an illegal/leaked copy of the official SDK. As for allowing you to hack newer FW? *shrugs* Who knows?

Regarding iPhone
Quote: |
I have also received a ton of requests from people to port this to the iPhone and/or one of their Symbian devices… my answer to that is : RTFM!! In other words, no it is simply *impossible*. It can only be ported to other Linux devices. However, we are close to having it work with IphoneLinux (actually, I just got confirmation a few seconds ago that it’s finally working) as NTAuthority spent countless hours porting it and fixing the controller’s incomplete driver in order to make this work. Once his port is finished, and stable, he will make it available to everyone, so stay tuned and follow the Device compatibility list on the wiki! |

I knew it!!
iLinux will be the only way to hack it with the iPhone. A quick google suggests you cannot get iLinux on iOS4 / iPhone 4.
Time for me to go out and buy one of these programable USB things, in the UK... YEH, THAT WON'T BE HARD NOW WILL IT :*(
