I dunno,I'm a bit disappointed. Looks and plays like any other console button smashing action game with lots of cutscenes...
Even the menu is just like Mass effects. :/

Okay so will they do something about the body size?? Apparently everyone was so buffed and/or toned in the oooolden times that everyone from a teen to an old lady had the body of a pr0n star...
1 and 2 are still amazing.

All of you whined like little crybabies about Mass Effect 2, how it's streamlined, how it will suck and be horrible. And when it came out, it turned out it was a masterpiece even better then the first one, and everyone played like mad. Dragon Age 2 will be amazing, I have no doubt. So just stop talking crap.

Heh, so it kinda comes down to Witcher 2 vs Dragon Age Origins 2 sales wise and competitive next year then, I wonder how this will end up, though I would guess that it seems that Dragon Age 2 have the advantage of marketing and brand recognition on consoles already, I can't judge either of the titles this early on of course but for DA2 it does feel like they've gone from a more classical RPG element to some action-adventure RPG judging by all the comments about streamlined dialogue systems and more combat stuff and such, I'll probably enjoy both for what they are though Witcher is one of the larger titles I'm looking forward to when it hits next year.
(Started replaying Witcher after finally having some time for it a short while ago, two days into the game at 9 hours each or so and nearly at chapter 3, still trying to be rather thorough but it goes somewhat faster now that I know about the various stuff in the game from earlier playtroughs, trying to round up three variants of the final save to use for the sequel.)
EDIT: And while not related Rage and DNF will probably divide things a bit as well.
(All have a mid-Q2 to early-Q3 2011 expected release date as far as I'm aware with some distance from one another though.)

The witcher 2 will be better, Dragon Age 2 will have more sales.
Obvious, I know.

well, im sure as hell buying the witcher 2. Too tired from the Bioware teasing to support them anymore. First an rpg then a straight forward action shooter (mass effect) now they are doing the same. So fuck them.

I prefer ME1 IMO, just because it was really close to the RPG/Shooter mix. They almost had it down, ME2 became more of a shooter, which is true.
Also, ME2 feels like a typical shooter, and the story is like a typical generic hollywood script, then an epic space adventure, or whatever you want to call it.
Number 2 hardly added anything new to the main plot except... except a few things.
Im looking forward TW2. Gothic 4 seems interesting, hope Risen 2 will be good as well.
As for JRPGs, their hasn't been a good JRPG in years. YEARS. (yes there are some good JRPGs to those who don't believe.)
The only one that seems remotely good is the "Last Story" and "Xenoblade" but Xenoblade deals with Giant Robots, and I hate that shit ,and their both on the fucking Wii. SO fuck that.

Might just be me, or is every hands-on so far only console?
Cant remember seeing a PC Hands-on on any of my usual sites, and seeing as GameInformer stated that PC combat would be mostly the same as DAO, and not button mashing like I've seen so far on the consoles, I would like to know if this is in fact the case?
I wouldn't mind them removing the shuffling when activating an ability, that's a thing still annoying me when playing DAO.

You remember the days where games had some complexity? seems like that time has passed. Everything is dumbed down now. EVERYTHING. Well, at least from the major publishers. And the worst part is people keep buying this shit.

(A lot does point to it being a bit more streamlined and rather changed from how the original game played.) |
What I've read so far actually states that the PC will keep it's current combat system, which they will tweak to be more fluent and avoid the small things like shuffling, while console is the hack and slash we've heard about so far.
I'll try to find my sources again and post them here.
But dialog will be more streamlined.
Also read that they might release modding tools anyway on the forums, got pointed to a post saying something, I understood as they might not release a new toolset but would update the current one to support DA2. But this is most likely old news
