you didn't happen to use the same saves for both versions?
Clean install on separate drives. Skidrow was installed in D drive, steam version was installed on C drive. They were not installed at the same time and no sharing of files whatsoever

So I got the legit steam version of Mafia II (for free from EVGA) and wow what a pile of shit. The legit version is filled with fucked up bugs including a movement bug and some physx bugs. The movement bug happens at random times and throughout several chapters. I only played until CHapter 3 on steam until I said fuck it. None of these bugs were present when I played the skidrow version (with crackfix) all the way upto chapter 14. The ONLY good thing about the legit version is achievements
Skidrow release > legit steam
Nothing like that happens on my legit Steam version. Maybe check your file integrity.

When uninstalling the Skidrow version did you make sure everything was removed?
No. It's got mixed reviews by both sites and users. I was left so dissatisfied that I gave up the game before even finishing the story. And I'm one who couldn't get away from the PC until he had finished Mafia 1.
Am I the only one that thinks this game pretty much blows?
No, but I'm not one of them. It lacks content, and the awesome city is wasted on not being able to do anything but drive around in it, but all in all it was a nice experience (albeit a short one).
It was a decent story. But it didn't even feel like a game, and not in the good way. Really suffered from the 75% driving bullshit, it felt like the devs were just wasting my time. It's good that it came out in the summer when my time is free, or I would of been a lot angrier having 5-6 hours of driving and maybe 3 of cutscenes and maybe getting to do something.

It doesnt matter where games are installed.important is that savefile is ONE in C:\Documents and Settings\(XXXXXXXXX)\Local Settings\Application Data and "both" games are using it.Separete install will only work if savegames is in game folder but its not...Your problems is only from savegames.Use only one version and will have no problems.
I saw now on torrents that The Betrayal of Jimmy is out for XBOX...How is this possible? This was supposed to be PS3 exclusive only right?Any new whether will be released for PC or not?
