Surely the BM app, and the PS3ISO2JB app both decrypt the games eboot.bin at point of extract - thus extracting directly is never going to work.
Try a different PS3 ISO - it could just be a file over 4gb, or it could be a dodgy iso, or just dodgy app code on PS3ISO2JB.
Great news that there is a tool out already though!!!!!!

I used the ps3isojb app to rip the eboot.bin. It still didn't work.
I don't think there are any files over 4GB in heavenly sword. If there were there would have been an error when I extracted the game over.
I'll try another iso later.

Good idea, but maybe there are more encrypted files than just the eboot.bin ? |
Maybe, but then I wouldn't still have gotten the error that the eboot.bin was invalid. Surely the error would have been different.
I just think that it was a bad rip to begin with.

They did say it was beta and to report issues to TeknoGods. Hopefully it's either a bad rip, or a bug that will be fixed ^_^

I hope this ISO2JB tool is real and works... or maybe teknogods just want some more members and some traffic

Teknogods have already got enough kudos/fame for all their other work, I doubt they'd do this merely as a honeypot for new users.
/Naive?
@RMFX
Just a quick thought; Perhaps the app is VERY literal, in that only ISO will work without issue? Trying to "convert" an IMG might not work.

Just wonder *How* The software can decrypt files without knowing the key... then again in not sure how backup manager does it - but i read the ps3 does it automatically and backup manager just gets access to the encrypted files on the bluray...

fair point, unless they've found something in the HEX that suggests it can be done by software, and doens't require a key to unlock specific to the system...

exactly thats why I think that app is just bogus. this is also the reason why game updates don't work.. The game update isn't on the disc so they can't decypt it (at least not yet). the "cracked" dashboard only runs decrypted files for now.

Ok, a friend of mine tried "Heavenly Sword" and the program crashed with an "Out of memory" error. The image was in .IMG format, could that have caused it? Does the app *require* an .ISO format?

Strange that it would only give you the error after extracting 8 gigs though no? It sounds like BS to me, and as I just said, I just got the same error with an iso.

RMFX
Files should be in this folder
GAMEZ\BLES-XXXXX\Files Extracted from iso
For every game you need disc ID, for example, for Heavenly Sword you need, BCUS-98132 (US Version), and BCES-00078 (EU version).
Otherway it won't work.

Weird. Pretty lame hoax if it is one. It probably does work just shouldn't have been released yet. Or it could be something to do with your machine. No reason we cannot all try to rip ISOs from our machine. I'll download that 2gig game now...

Why do you need a jailbreak? I jsut want to see if this app is legit. Going to download the old ISO, rip it with the tool to a USB drive.. and see if it works...

All I could possibly do is use the app to rip and ISO into files in a folder. I don't have any way of putting them on my PS3 or running them yet :\

This app just copy files from iso to folder, obviously it wont work without Jailbreak.

@sabin1981
I don't think this is the exact way that SONY do it. The procedure might be the same to get the PS3 to look at the stick but I don't think that the data on the stick is the same.
OK third attemp with this PSISOJB app. Fuel this time. Let's see how far this one gets.
