"Although I can't say much at this stage, below is a short teaser vid that shows the very first concept. It's laggy, yes, but that's not why we uploaded this video. This video shows that we, MODMYWHAT.com, have indeed successfully created and joined the world's first Mafia 2 Multiplayer server."
again it shows nothing, what does it show um nothing.. although i cant really say much but ill say , "it shows nothing"
seriously though why do these nutjobs say i cant say much, if there was at least a bit of mp in that be it connection or not you wouldnt tease video it with 2 seconds of turning around and running away.. you would expand on that and leave the video record for a bit..
I say bullshit.. Show me the real goods..
are you blind or just dumb? it shows the worlds first mafia 2 multiplayer mod duh... you can see another player running around all laggy and shit
dumb no, why would that be another player? ive not even touched mafia 2 game so cant comment on clothing to pick out "other players" but the mod itself doesnt to my or anyother general person looking at it state "look its obvious its mp"
Possible contender for the "Disappointment of the Century - Award" ?
Aye, have to agree on this. Story was alright, nothing special, but game was just too empty. Not sure if that's the right word. Lacked soul? I wasn't impressed.
From technical standpoint, it's fantastic. It looks great, captures winter, night, summer, etc perfectly. The attention to details is great. But it lacks something to make it good.

they were too busy with dlc's and all that that they forgot about the main game, this is what happens when u follow the money only, with mafia 1 they were poor and full of ambition, hell even made their own engine
I am not sure if this is the case, but it probably also didn't help.
I hate to jump on the GTA bandwagon, but a lot of the gameplay elements of the main story felt like an introduction to something which turnout to not be there at all. You learn to fight, and poof, you don't need it anymore. So what was the point? There are already so much cut scenes, why not have a fight cut scene and be done with it. It would have been perfectly possible to include some bars or some illegal fights in the world, and have that mission be the "introduction" to that. That's just one tiny example.

I couldn't agree more. I was looking forward to this one and preordered. But it was a huge disappointement to me, so limited in so many ways. And far too liniear. It looked good but looks just ain't enough.
I cancelled my preorder, glad I didn't pay anything for this one, though I thoroughly loved the first game.
Also cars blow up way to fast, you're shooting up the roof and it goes kaboom original Mafia had great car destruction, you could shoot it with a Tommy gun until it looked like swis cheese, great times.

I disagree. I enjoyed the game a lot. The only thing i can bitch about is being short (but in an era when most games are 6h long, that's probably just the way it is), together with lack of re-playability.

I never had that, cars blow up when you hit the gas tank. I could empty my Tommy on a car without it blowing up.

Game would have been fucking awesome but Jesus fucking Christ, where is the fucking content?
Hey Vito, you should go some more jobs for Derek, or that guys whose name I forget because after getting the fucking car and being promised further jobs, there aren't any. Maybe in the DLC though.
God damn it. I hate getting drunk with my credit card within reach. Fuck this game.
Just finished the game. Is it just me, or does the ending lack some closure to the story?
I guess that in a few months, we can all buy the ending...
Compared to Mafia 1, this feels like a lot of stuff was cut out. I was hooked on the story in the middle part of the game, but the start and the ending parts was not that great. Hmm, gonna replay Mafia 1...

The don't stop you for running red lights, but the should stop you from speeding. Everything over 60 km/h, although I think the freeway has a higher speed limit.
Edit: Damn you ninjaaaaaaaa!!!
Heh, seriously though cops in mafia 2 don't care about red lights. As for speeding they only fine you if they are moving in the same direction as you are.
They're rather lazy usually, sometimes they do try to give you a ticket and if you do resist they might try a arrest but usually they're only a small bother unless you start shooting in their vicinity.
(And even then unless they capture your appearance or license plate losing them is as easy as running around a building a few times, soon they lose sight of you for a few seconds and give up unless you're unlucky and reinforcements arrive though that's rare unless you've been attacking them or similar.)
Mafia 1 kinda explained it with how they were on Salieri's payroll but they seem quite sluggish in Mafia 2 and also easily bribed.
(Costs a bit if you have to lower the wanted status directly via a phonecall but is otherwise not much of a issue, then again everyone seems to be corrupt and dealing with stuff at the side of the law in this city.)
