Besides, like you say, I can play Mafia 2 now at full settings or wait another 2 year to be able to do the same with GTAIV
Didn't realize that I was the only person that installs tons of games to use as a benchmark when I upgrade ram/cpu/gpu.
It's supposed to be a game not a fucking benching tool.
silly it's all about fps and how smooth it is nowadays, if someone has more fps in benchmarks he has a bigger cock than u will ever have

Euphoria kicks ass. Run down a sidewalk in GTA4 and bump into people, then run down a sidewalk in Mafia 2 and run into people....seems like there shouldn't be too much of a difference, but the difference is HUGE. Now that is just running on a sidewalk....a tree in a forest.
Sure GTA4 doesn't run well on your pc, it doesn't run well on mine, it doesn't run well on anyones, unless the settings are sacrificed, or tons of .ini files are edited.
However, two years from now, you'll re-install it and be AMAZED with the game, and IF you re-install Mafia 2, you'll be bored/disappointed because it will run/look the same.
Lastly, this game has sooooo many scripted events it isn't even funny.....but i'll at least beat it and then uninstall. I've still got GTA4 installed.....
The part where you go and knock off the old man on the lawn was pretty cool.That's the character you were in part 1. Its a shame though that a lot of the action happens in the cut scenes.You don't even do the assassination.Too bad no free roam after you complete the main story.

nope, my HD5770 has the latest 10.8 drivers
it worked at first, then i changed some video settings, when i applied them, the screen was like that, i uninstalled it and made a sweep of the registry for all things mafia and installed it again without touching the video settings and it was still like that
Did you install the Direct X version that came with the game?
i already had dx 10, or 11 i think, but i installed the one that came with the game after i got the problems
see, the thing is
everything was working fine the first time i started it, then i just changed the settings a bit, enabled AA, and it went blank like that, when i uninstalled, reinstalled a couple of times, turned everything to default, it was still like this
if i could only get it to where i was when i first installed it, but i deleted everything with Revo Uninstaller Pro, even the registry files, but nothing helped
Any1 here with memory leaks.. ? I can play game for about an hour,and then it starts to stutter especially when driving.Problem disappears after I restart whole game,but it's sometimes annoying.Im on chapter 9 right now..game is good,not fantastic..but still Im enjoying it.
Yeah I had to restart it every 2 or 3 missions cause the game would start chugging Not too big a deal I guess.
Not that much (As per it's name), you drive around the city free of any missions and such and via scripts it's set up so that you can either add Joe or Henry as companions, it's not possible to save (Even by finding posters and such.) so you start over from the beginning when you die, mostly used to explore the city a bit but there isn't much to be done or seen aside from what was shown in the campaign, fun for a while though.

again it shows nothing, what does it show um nothing.. although i cant really say much but ill say , "it shows nothing"
seriously though why do these nutjobs say i cant say much, if there was at least a bit of mp in that be it connection or not you wouldnt tease video it with 2 seconds of turning around and running away.. you would expand on that and leave the video record for a bit..
It's obviously not as good as the original, a lot of features seem to be missing for some reason unfortunately some of them would really up the mafia atmosphere (like beating up a guy with a baseball bat) half the fun in Mafia was shooting out of the car and blowing tires up that is missing as well.
Guns and cars seem to be streamlined, what happened to shells bouncing on the floor (with EAX) when you reloaded your revolver or shotgun, amazingly the details, like that one, were much better in a game that is 8 years older, also the guns seemed to be more realistic in the original.
Cars well, they are too fast I don't have that same feeling like in Mafia that I am driving an old timer, it is a couple of years fast-forward but still the cars don't seem to be realistic.
Missions were better in Mafia, period. Done with more love and care back then.
after an in-game video.not the rendered ones.! the game just doesn't load.it says loading..and i wait forever for nothing.
should i install a codec or something ?
