Metroid_Other_M_USA_Wii-iND
Description:
For decades, Samus Aran has been known as one of the first female protagonists in video games, and one of the most enigmatic. Having traded her haunted past for the solitary life of a bounty hunter, Samus finally tells her own tale in this revealing, personal story of her failings, her flaws and ultimately her motivation. Metroid: Other M is an unprecedented collaboration that blends the slick, action-packed production of the world-renowned Team Ninja development team with the game design talents of the creators of the original Metroid. Metroid: Other M is a dramatic new direction for a legendary franchise and a bold new blend between cinematics, storytelling and the best in interactive entertainment.
Features:
* Metroid: Other M takes the best elements of 1st-person and 3rd-person gaming to create a seamless blend between gameplay, story-telling and dynamic cinematography, that feels like a movie the player can control.
* Players hold the Wii Remote controller sideways while navigating and battling in 3rd-person. However, at any moment, players can switch immediately to Wii Remote pointer controls to examine and explore the environments in 1st-person perspective.
* Metroid fans know more about Samus' suits and weapons than they do about what drives her. That's about to change. The story begins immediately following the events of Super Metroid, when a baby Metroid gave its life to protect Samus. With voice acting and a rich story, players learn the engaging backstory of Samus as she weaves through an action-packed adventure aboard the Bottle Ship, a decommissioned space facility. As she hurtles into this new adventure, Samus will encounter her first mentor and Commanding Officer of the Galactic Federation, Adam Malkovich.
* The development of Metroid: Other M is an exciting collaboration between Nintendo's Yoshio Sakamoto and Team Ninja. Sakamoto was the director of Super Metroid in 1994. Team Ninja is the renowned action developer of Ninja Gaiden. Metroid: Other M pairs Sakamoto's expert level design and exploratory focus of the classic Metroid series with Team Ninja's signature stylish, no-holds-barred action.

So apparently this was nuked. I stopped my DL, but am now wondering if it's worth continuing? Has anyone tried it yet? I use the Wii through USB, but given it's size, I'd rather not download it if it's not going to work.

Downloaded and burned = no work. Gonna look around and see if I need to change my IOS' but since neogamma spits out unreadable disc I'm betting this isn't a 1:1.

Hey guys, just tried it via USB through Wiiflow and it worked perfectly fine. Booted quickly and everything. Have not tried via disc as I can't be bothered to use a DL when everything else is on USB.
I'm running a softmodded Wii with the latest update and whatnot (whether that matters or not, who knows?)
Edit: Also works through USB Loader GX (latest version).

I managed to play past the tutorial and then after Samus' meeting I get an error!
I may need to update the soft mod or something. It did mention in Configurable USB Loader that CIOS249 rev14 has known problems with dual layer games. Its that long since I updated the Wii, I honestly cant remember how to do it! o_O

I know my IOS is 222 or something, as that is the only version of WiiFlow that will work. I managed to get past the tutorial myself and play a bit, so it seems like it'll work that way. Hell, I spent a few hours getting my Wii to load USB again after accidentally updating to 4.3 the other day. I say accidentally since I use it so little, I totally forgot about updates potentially ruining USB/Homebrew support.

Pimp My Wii, sounds like a great program and easy to use. But Is it safe? Says on the website that it updates the Wii with alot of good things like the missing IOS and things like that, but among them also update the latest firmware. Is that really safe? I mean the latest firmware, wouldn't that delete the homebrew channel?

Easiest is to install HBC 1.08 and then update, it'll still be installed even after 4.3 is in and you'll get all IOS stuff properly like the USB2 support one (IOS54 or what it was, 58?.)
It will try to remove a lot of other stuff though so you need to reinstall any custom CIOS and stuff like priiloader/hackmii if needed.

I like it a lot, feels much like the game on SNES. Kind of just same feeling, besides the intro gave me real nostalgic kick. I also like that they're giving us more history about Samus and what she has gone thru. Overall this is the true follow up to the SNES-version, and it feels like it. Great game!

i had the crashing after the tutorial, tried different settings and each time it crashed on me. On the advise of the poster above, i installed pimp my wii to the mem card and ran it from Home brew channel, chose scan and fix and let it do its thing. Absoloutely superb, Metroid now works a treat.
as for thje game, it feels very much like Super metroid, but im not sure about the control scheme, having to stop when fighting a boss and stand still to take a shot with a missile is retarded
apologies to any retards on here for my slur!

I used that Pimp My Wii thing too, it must be the best thing yet. A lot of games that I couldn't get working works now. I'll swear by this tool in the future if they'll keep it up
The stand-still-shooting-missile are kind of funky, but over all I like the controls. I mean, I didn't think you could get so much out of a gamepad that basiclly only have as many buttons as a 8-bit NES pad. But it works great, the dodging and shooting feels responsive and the "point wiimote to the screen" to scan is a great way to use the motioncontrols without overusing it...eventhough shooting missiles from there is not the best way to do it.

Amazingly I didn't have to do shit to get it working. Only thing I did was removed the update partition because someone recommended it, so I did.
Burned it on DVD+DL Verbatim, used Neogamma R9 Beta44, on Wii 3.4 USA, using 249 rev17. Works like a charm from Dual Layer Disc on my system.
Got passed the tutorial, I beat the first boss, no errors or lock ups or crashes. No problems so far. Good game.

A tool you install with homebrew channel that will check and update all the ios222 and what not, so you do not have to dig up things yourself. Very easy and got Metroid working in a heartbeat, even NSMB works like a charm now. Gonna test monster hunter 3 later, just because that game was a bitch to get going...
