yeah i found that stupid, it should've been automatic, driving same route all the time for no reason

It seems to me they did it on purpose to let you experience the game "longer". Just figure how short a game gets when you don't have those parts. I was truly hyped about this game.... but now i havent even installed the game. All reactions tells me this is a waste of my DL anyway.

Liking game so far .. but yeah it feels unfinished and bugy.. Some patches and DLC should improve things if i can be bothered to keep it installed that long (after beating it).

I cant believe that dont give free roam and the option to save. very disappointing in that regard.

Gameplay 6/10 so far... audio 9/10 , Graphiics 8/10. With a little more effort this could have been GOTY .. instead it will be forgotten in a week or two.

I bought this game for 29gbp in a drunken stupor, literally going '29 DOLLARS! OH I AM ON THAT!', only realizing my embarrassing mistake as I hit 'confirm payment'.

So the question is, can I use pirated DLC with the legit game? Thanks.

yay! i just beat the game. it's quite fun to play. i didn't like the amount of driving. i wished it had the cab system like gta iv where you can quick travel to your destination. i actually didn't skip the cinematics like i usually do on most games on my first playthrough. it's pretty entertaining. Very Happy

the graphic is stunning to behold. i love it when it rains. you can see the dev spent a lot of time in the little details like the frosting on the wind shield and the minute damage details of the car. i wished your character could bone the lovely ladies you encountered in the game but alas he's pretty neutered. Sad

anyway, i'm kinda if-y on the ending. i definitely plan to re-play on hard and take my time on the 2nd playthrough and try to unlock everything. adding playboy collectibles is a mighty good incentive to look for them. Very Happy

here are some of my final stats (i played on medium so no pin ups):

game progress: 71%
playing time: 10:38:09
artwork unlocked: 18/32
playboy magazines found: 6/50
wanted posters found: 0/159
distance traveled on foot: 18.59 mi.
distance traveled by car: 96.54 mi.
retries used: 4
times died: 7

i am on chapter 8 or 9 if i remember well, and ..there is something strange when it comes to atmospher and to mafia and i mean...i don't feel like i am in the 50's, i love the music very mutch , but it feels many times to me that the music do not match the atmospher and also ..the story to me is more like late 40's early 50's punk gang fights than real mafia gangs, but maybe the action only starts on chapter 9?..i guess i will have to find out:)

till now i can say that mafia 1 was much better in any way and also i loved gta 4 much more then this one, but again, this are my impressions till chapter 9 .

what a days Smile

Since chapter 10 is...

Unfortunately the game has somewhat like 15 chapters so it does start a bit slow paced I'd guess you can call it.
(Unsure how the Jimmy DLC's and the Joe DLC will tie into the game, that supercharger/hotrod upgrade seems to be more than just part of a smaller set of missions for example based on that PS3 video.)

That's the thing, this game feels like a cheap '40s GTA copy, whereas the first mafia was different in gameplay style , it had a serious enough story , characters you cared about, etc.

What do we have here, you ask ? Just another Niko Belic , along with his cousin Roman , where the latter is all about the ladies and having fun while Vito is all responsible an shit, the entire game being fueled by extremely simple gta style missions ( like go there , kill that , go to sleep ).

Imo the first mafia was a lot more complex ( and longer ffs ) , but I'm sure that Mafia 2 will sell a lot more, and thus play it's part in the gradual decay of game quality.

I almost bought the ps3 version but I resisted the temptation, since there is absolutely no point replaying the game on ps3 after completing the game on pc.

As soon as they're available and uploaded somewhere just placing them in the \Mafia II\PC\DLCs\ folder should work.
(As with MadeMan and the cnt_made_man folder.)

So far nothing else is available though.
(If it's possible to explore PS3 content and it's set up in a similar way ripping that disc could work but I think it works a bit different as it's added to the game as is already I'd guess.)

If you're using original version simple pasting doesn't work, you have to edit one file. If you're using SKIDROW you're good to go I think.

However, some guys unlocked cars from Greaser and War Hero packs, no clothes available though.

It's on cs.rin.ru forums.
