Solution(s) : Quit the game, and Restart the entire 14th chapter.

What? How come, didn't you use the spring update that restores HDD install function to banned consoles? Or is it just with Mafia 2? If is just the latter, try a different rls.

I absolutely loved this game, seems I am lucky that I did not encounter any bugs. The only really annoying thing was that later in the game savepoints are spread very very thin and you have to redo large passages of shooting again.
Still, just riding around the city in some oldtimer, listening to rock'n'roll made me smile time and time again.

well I solved it. seems a lot of people have that issue but with another door in the same level. it's cause is very "simple". if you robbed shops and gas stations to get the money, you're fucked and can't open the door to the restaurant. Started it again and won my money by crushing cars (waaaaya easier and faster than robbing shops  ) and now i can finally open the door. i will see this game through
go another bug too, i passed THROUGH a door and i couldn't open it from the inside. so i was in the appartment with no way of getting out...

I'm @ chapter 5 now, about 1 hour a chapter, i'm loving it, graphics and FPS suck a bit but the rest is pretty cool.

finished it as well now. Graphics are OK but not spectacular, gameplay is standard but effective (good aim, cars drive like you'd expect them to), great atmosphere, great story, but some bugs are really a downer like missing characters for the story mission, cutscenes that don't start, neverending loading screens (all real exemples, although i only did encounter one of those bugs).
for me it was a great game and it's the story that made it great, but it feels as if it should've been polished a bit more (especially on PS3 with those missing features like blood pools, 3D grass and realistic clothes physics, we all know the PS3 can do it).
all in all, i'd give it a 7/10 (8.5/10 if you've finished the first mafia, this is pure nostalgia).

Im on chapter 10 and its starting to wear a little thin. The GFX certainly got worse since hitting the 50s, more aliasing , pop in etc. Just wish there was more depth, its to simplistic to be anything special in todays age. Also it to easy, im playing on hard, no aim assist, cars on sim and I sleep walk through it. Maybe the latter chapters will up the action. Story, characters and atmosphere are the real driving force here, gameplay comes a distant second

What the FUCK is wrong with this game. I am having problems with loading level 14 as well. It seems my problem is different than most of you experienced. I have not even begun to play the level at all - it just loads up level 14, it shows the introductary text and then goes back to infinite loading loop.
What I´ve tried.
1. Load level 14 from "load level" and not from continue
2. Clear Cache
3. Install patch 1 for the game
I also have the game installed to HDD: Nothing seems to help. I read about the problems with robbing stores etc, but I have not even gotten there. Extremely thankful for any tips you guys might have.
EDIT: So I got it to work. I had to replay mission 13 again. Man this game is a bugfest and I was afraid it would be bugged out again all the way until I completed it. Too bad because I kinda liked the game TBH. Doesn´t live up to the legacy of number one though.

Yeah, it really doesn't unfortunately, which is a pity because I've been following it like a hawk since it was first announced years ago (LOVED the 1st one; it was perfect IMO). I still enjoyed #2 though... as much as I could.

Good game, but so many bugs and very short (maybe 10 hours of gameplay). On chapter 12, for an unknown reason, when chasing a mafia leader, my car stopped and was "sinking" on the city map. PS3 was freezed.
Then I saw the problem on chapter 14 (which is very long) if you rob the stores, you got an infinite loading screen
So I just stole cars, well, theres a glitch too on this level :
I brought one car, then there's one car in the junk yard, crushed it, leave by foot the junk yard, (maybe 200 meters) came back, a new car was there. I did it till I got all the money.
core i5 4690K / 16 Gb / GTX 960 / Ubuntu 16.04 x64
