Mafia was a 30h+ game? The game content itself was ~12-15h, though the difficulty and rare checkpoints easily made you spend 20h+ to finish it. |

I'm quite enjoying this. Story is slightly fragmented at times but I like the atmosphere.
I've only done say the first 8 chapters but I'm assuming the game opens up a little. For instance, the start gets you in contact with the guy you can steal cars for and also Derek. However, so far they never have any work for me therefore I'm wondering why they bothered with that bit?

Somehow i feel that there is something missing in this game.... The first one really hooked me up, i remember this ambush that had a cutscene with some old 30's cars coming in fast in a parking lot and it was really amazing.
So far i've been playing this for a few good hours (chapter 8 or 9, i think) and nothing as remarkable has happened yet. I also think that the missions are a bit boring.
I gotta tell you, i'm a bit disappointed. Let's hope the rest of the game has some more action...

The game itself is pretty amazing, but for a game like this it is kinda lacking. I would like to be able to participate in certain activities. Randomly generated Mafia side missions perhaps, bowling, hookers, houses to buy. They could have done so much more for this title.

Buggy game or bad burn? Or both?
I have so far experienced black sky but daylight environment (in cut scene they said it was 3am), falling thru the map, making me crash and die!? Stuck at loading. Savefile unable to load. When reloding chapter I could not run, nor where clothes. Had to replay in only boxers and wifebeater. Voices muted in some cutscenes.
This about halfway in.
Other than that I like the game. Not the same impact as first one, but still nice. The setting is spot on. When it comes to weather and surrounding alike.
Not epic as first but solid. Get the feeling they didn´t have time to finnish off all the things the wanted. A feeling I get on most games today.

I played from disc and only encountered 1 bug. When i tried to strangle someone he didnt fall to the ground. He just stood there and when i turned around he turned around in sync. Was weird, but he didnt follow me or anything just stood at the same spot.

Radar glitches sometimes also.
Few times i had a clear radar, and got shot in the ass by some guy hiding behind a pilar.

I'm on about chapter 9 and only experienced 2 bugs. The one whereby strangling people (stealth kills) gets glitchy and you don't actually grab the person, you grab thin air but they die anyway (so its just a graphical glitch).
I also experience pathfinding errors on a mission where you have to follow someone in a car and not be detected. Played the mission a total of 5 times as the first 4 times the lead car would crash and kill the target or just crash and get stuck. Either way, you fail the mission through no fault of your own.

You can probably do it with lots of cars at the right place, But I did it with the hotrod (upgraded)

can't believe i'm stuck but i think it's more of a bug (but not sure).
| Spoiler: | in chapter 14, i have to save Joe from a bar (mona lisa). i got the required 27.500$, but when i step in front of the door i press 'x to open' and nothing happens. is it a bug? am i missing something (tried to find alternate route into bar, without any luck)? anyway it sucks to be so near to the end and not being able to carry on  |

i just restarted the whole chapter (it's a real pain in the ass!) and the door still won't open ffs! guess i'll never see the end of that game then hows that even possible?

where did you get the hot rod from deelix? i been wanting one of those cars since the greaser mission but i can't find one. i love the way you can hear it counting off and the exhaust popping sounds pretty good too. dont' think i've heard sound effects that good in a game yet.

If it isn't, install it to HDD and try restarting the whole chapter. Try switching difficulty levels too, if it doesn't work with just the restart. Or dellete it from HDD and reinstal, try a different rls even, as there are about 4 at this point. I had no problems with the first non scene rls (MAFiA.2.2010.PAL.XBOX360-ELiTE). Well, other than the magazine bug (where every magazine you pick up, it show that Joe poster), but that's not a game breaker in anyway.
It's a shame not to play through it till the end, as the story gets... interesting (didn't like the ending), that's why I suggest you to try different things to play it through to the end.

There's a bar to the north-west, on the main island. A greasers bar, there's one parked outside.

for some reason i can't install it to HDD (instal is not supported), and i barely got through chapter 14 on easy (hate it when i have to find that certain amount of cash, you die and get to do it all over again). gonna try another release without patching it (need to go to a friend of mine to update the firmware first).
thx for the input tho
