so old saves dont work with skidrows? shame, though i cant see myself playing through it again, alot of it was a bit of a grind.
what DLC is there?

The demo uses a separate named folder for saves whereas Skidrow (And the original name.) uses a numbered profile folder, it's under C:\Users\UserName\Appdata\Local\2K\Mafia\ and in there's a number of folders with some random numbers containing the compiled settings not in the settings.cfg file and the saves, just copy them across to the correct location and it might work though could be buggy and such.

It's not bad, its kinda like reading war and peace, its great the first time but its one big fucking book. Everything up till around chapter 10 is a bit slow and a bit of a grind. Dont get me wrong I loved it but I cant see myself playing through it again anytime soon, maybe the jimmy DLC's but thats about it. |

I never had the other thing installed (only demo) and I got the healthproblem as well in chapter 2.

Unless Skidrow included the other updated files in their crack or used a custom installer with these pre-applied the data should be identical save for the exe and they also include a modified steam_content.dll file so it should work with the earlier leaked image file.
(I tried it with my original game with the updated files and it worked just fine but I did test chapter 3, and the above mentioned DLC, whereas those health problems began in chapter 1 after the taxi ride if I remember correctly.)

Finished the game with one of the older cracks without crashes.
Atm i cant bother with playing it a 2nd time.
Its obvious that the game map was made with the DLC in mind. There are regions in thegame that you cant reach.
For example according to the map there is a big villa/house with swimming pool on the outer west of the map. According to the map you can reach it with a road but that road is blocked by a gate wich u cant climb or crash with a car.
So i gues that region was made for DLC. There also are a few other bits u cant get to.
Story was good but didnt like a few bits of it.

It would have been normal if you had visited your sister after getting out of jail seeing she got married while you were in jail. But no you dont see her at all until she sits on your doorstep crying months after you got out of jail.
Then at the end of that mission she is mad at you and never wants to see you again.
I guess the makers wanted to turn it into a emotional situation where you see what you have become but they completey fail at it. I didnt rly care about her seeing i only saw her 3 times in the entire game 2 of wich are at the start, if they had included her more after you got out of jail it prolly woulda worked. Almost as if the writers forgot she was around orso.
The other bit that was wierd was the way you killed Falcone. I didnt like the guy but the emotional way you kill him is kind of wierd. Yes he took your cash and tried to bribe your best friend but stil think it was a bit wierd/
The open ending also blows btw. |
ps. i hope it wont be seen as a spoiler but you cant do anything when you finish the game.
No free roam or whatever. In the first Mafia you could atleast free roam and collect fun cars. Unles ofc this gets activated if you let the credits finish.

Aha, so Skidrow failed, but they usually fix their shit. And then it should work fine on p2p installs, too. They're probably the same.
