well, i have my bed above my desk at home, and my pc is on 24/7 with a very big old fan. and i still sleep and im still alive. noise can't really be a problem.
It all depends of it becoming mainstream. Just look at watercooling today. Before such systems ware extremely expensive and only a few manufacturers existed. Seriously look at these recommended socket 775 coolers.
Sounds like an interesting idea, liquid metal i like the sound of that except i certainly hope mercury isnt used can you imagine a small breakage? how much damage could be caused? including the massive health risk from the poisonious fumes.
