From reading the forums, it appears there's just a couple of maps. There's no truly random maps.

Epsilon: Game is great btw, I love it, so far it's a definite goty. It's remarkable how much has changed since the beta, stardock have been working their asses off, and it shows.

Hm. Now that's somewhat sucky :/
But I guess (hope) that Stardock uses their neverending will to support their games to "correct" that at some point.

Still no release, damn it. Wanna test this out before I fork over 50 bucks Sad

I think the randomness is only in terms of whats inside the continents borders (resources, nodes, etc.), the shape of world is less random (couple of shapes randomly selected). No big deal for me, personally.
Anyway, game is really nice, but it lacks some things, like adjusting units movement speed (really slow on world map for my personal taste) or scrolling combat field (bit pathetic). Also, some things are left to discover on our own - in one game I couldn't talk to any of the adventurers on the world map and I had no idea why (and yes, I had req tech researched). There is supposedly a patch incoming tommorow, so we will see what else they will improve. Good manual would really be appreciated Smile

After playing for a few hours, I would say game need much more polishing especially in GUI department, a lot of view <-> model synchronization bugs, also options like 'Amount of Groundcover', 'Softness (Adv. Lighting)' and 'GFX: Disable Depth of Field' do absolutely nothing for me.

Tactical combat is unintuitive, sometimes unit can attack once, sometimes twice. The same feeling exists thru the game, so far I can't "connect with numbers". Added 0.5 points to some skill, what did it change Confused

Overall I like it, game have potential Smile

Game is just plain bad. Too many bugs.(alt+tab kills the game, memory leaks) Wish it were more like AoW or HoMM. But it's far more inferior.

Any of you guys having issues when scrolling screen on world map? It's nowhere near fluid as it should be, the whole screen jumps instead of fluent move. Reaaaaaaaaaaally annoying. In general this game is really badly optimized. Hopefuly tommorow's patch will fix some important things, but I got no high hopes Sad Other than that, great game!

What's the deal with alt+tab? I know plenty of games that crash if you do that even nowadays. :/

It was because the date breaking, they delivered a pre-day 0 patch where somethings were deactivated on purpose. Day-0 (tomorrow) patch will fix it.

Been playing around a bit and it feels clunky? Not in terms of framerate but response to clicks and such feel pretty slow (and just to test it out I'm playing on the lowest settings).
Plus I have yet to figure out how to combine 2 armies. Is there like a max number of troops for a single army?
Gonna play a bit more and see how it goes.

Yeah i agree... it stutters all over the place... units moving backwards or forward after they arive at their destination. Miss clicks and so on. Game looks promising but i'm gonna wait (again) for the patch.

Btw... to combine units just select them and click on the other unit you want them to combine with.

Edit : Like mentioned before... FFS a tutorial would be nice!!

Tried that but it only seems to work if I got an army of multiple units and try to add a single unit to it.

btw. had some random crashes here and there.
But if they release a patch tomorrow I won't bitch too much about technical stuff.

Is it just me or do most 4x game not have a useful tutorial?
But I agree and apparently the manual sucks major ass as well.

For me game only shutters a little bit during zooming out the moment fog of war starts calculating for the distance tiles.

Also for some reason every time after launching the game mouse cursor is stuck in an area occupied by Windows Dock, clicking mouse would take back to windows. So I had to alt-tab or click the game icon in the dock to get back into the game. As turns out this disables all particle effects in the game. I managed to fixed it by setting Windows Dock to auto hide.

Still, video options I mentioned in the previous post do nothing for me Confused

Demigod was pretty much a train wreck, and now this! Frogboy thinks he's the new Peter Molyneux or something. Is there anything about releasing bad games in the Gamer's Bill of Rights?

So glad I didn't lay down any money on this (and I was tempted to).

How does this affect Stardock's reputation?

So, is it worth to try in its current state?

I love civ/galciv sagas, but never got into games like homm/disciples/king bounty...

Terrible game. Crap interface, aged graphics and chewed fighting system. Really it has nothing going for it.

Interface I can sort of agree. Aged graphics? I really like the art style and "aged graphics" is in no way the correct term to describe this.
And what do you mean by "chewed fighting system"? O.o

Really awkward and weird graphics, and interface, big turn off. But I'm sure if I can get through that part, which I will because I'm not that superficial the game looks very promising. But because of the "poor" graphics and interface, it will turn many many players off without giving the game a chance.

Can somebody please explain to me what the deal with the gfx is?
do people actually want high-res, life like graphics for games like these?
