The use of the word "arcade" is not correct here, in my opinion. I would hardly call Batman's fighting mechanics arcade. Action, perhaps, but certainly not arcade. To me arcade fighting is mashing the same button (like it seems the guy in the video is doing) to string endless amounts of combos, without any thought or skill onvolved.

In that regard, Assassin's Creed 2's combat was quite satisfying for it required some skill and every successful hit felt like an accomplishment. Something I could keep myself busy with for hours.

P.S: I didn't knew your feelings about DAO2.

Then we flamed each other for no reason.

But this is why I love nfohump. Cool Face

I enjoyed AC2 for what it was. But I think it will be the last ac I'm playing, I did not find the combat difficult at all. I'm just hoping the witcher keeps the true RPG aspects + more in this one.

I think we might be over reacting, they did say us PC gamers that supported them, would be givin a nice surprise. So we can only hope.

i didnt really enjoy the combat in ac2. the stealth kills and shit were great, and the animations and kill moves were cool, but the actual core combat i didnt enjoy... it was mostly waiting and block then counter, and if you tried to go on the attack, it felt a bit awkward and didnt flow well and so it felt like the game was punishing you.

still loved the game though.

Yep my first was a 16k spectrum, then a timex 128k, then a 128 +3 (with floppy disks!), then a 268, with 2 mg ram, and a S3 trident for GFX with 1 mg, what a machine, that pure DOS meant absolute control Smile

for me, the REALLY interesting thing will be how supported this game will be. they made a MASSIVE impact on me by heavily supporting the first game... they got a hell of a lot of goodwill from pc gamers i think because of how they handled it - to say nothing about remastering the thing for free for people who bought it, which was great.

like i said, what im really curious about is if it was just an act to get in our good books, or if it remains a hallmark of how they approach game development and the gaming community.

or if theyll just drop us like so much trash when theyre used us and gotten big enough to 'make it in the console world' where devs all apparently want to go because of all that... profit... nonsense... Wink

you know... like what all other developers have done...

Never got around to finishing Witcher 1 as I started with other adventure modules and other games altogether, currently replaying it and it works pretty well though it's prone to crashing on exit and parts of that DoF/lighting cinematic or conversation bug is back due to driver issues, other than that it's stable and still holds up well.
(WEI went from ~9 to 1 but I've always found it over-sensitive. Razz )

the test isnt saying that shit, the test is sticking with it. respect is earned over time... if they keep up that attitude, then yep, ill respect them... but not because of a handful of messages that they post while ADVERTISING a new game Wink

Well, things like this could backfire if they decide to going to be sellouts. Maybe a bad move to put something like this in a trailer. We'll see Rolling Eyes

The speaker says they're ghosts, not real soldiers and that's why they disappear

I hope it's an alpha version.. The inventory was shite(I know they said placeholder), the AI is worse than Conviction's, the combat looks lamer than Fable, the graphics aren't anything remarkable"best RPG engine evaaar derpderp!" and the choices you choose doesn't have any resemblance to what he says at all.

Looks pretty good. But I wasn't the biggest fan of the first game so I'm reserving any hype or bashing until it's out. A bit derped, but also seems like they improved a lot of other things. Less loading screens too thank fuck.
