Well yeah I do expect them to be similar although Battlefield 3 might have slightly larger maps and more units and equipment (Vehicles atleast.) but I guess it'll also hit consoles this time around and Frostbite has had some issues though revision 2 and newer might help.
(Or so it would seem but MoH beta shows it's not fully ready yet, heh.)
EDIT: Also apparently EA canned the PC version of 1943, it was rather delayed and as it was meant as a teaser for Bad Company 2 and smaller scale it might not have worked even as a budget title.
(That and MoH coming in a few months would probably have killed any online play it could have mustered, even more so when Call of Duty 7 hits retailers.)

EDIT: Seems MoH beta is over, though X360 version (Which was delayed for some reason, probably buggy as it's been the focus of Dice from what I've understood.) will run a week or so more.

Makes you wonder if pre-orders are that bad, that they have to advertise a beta access sometime within a whole year after the release of MoH. There has been barely any info on BF3 at all...

This MoH game must be really bad
Judging from the beta, it really is!
The MP part is just a (bad) mix between Modern Warfare and BC2, while the SP will be very probably characterized by the usual linear 5 hours long experience with almost zero replayability.
Actually, in my opinion, Hybrid Theory wasn't that bad. Though as usually happens their sonorities have been considerably softened and streamlined in order to appeal to a larger audience (as if their first songs weren't "soft" enough!).
The same principle applies to Korn, Limp Bizkit and any other "Nu Metal" band out there.
I used to love them when I was younger, played the shit out of Hybrid Theory, Reanimation and Meteora. Bought Minutes to Midnight too, but was severely disappointed.
The newest album is likely to be decent though, but The Catalyst is like a song you would play in a disco, seriously.
What's the deal with him aiming under the guy for headshots? I'm used to aiming over a guy head to allow for bullet drop. I don't think MoH is going to be even close to as good as COD:BO. DICE is spread way too thin, trying to work on BC2, BC2: Vietnam and MoH...
Fox News takes aim at Medal Of Honor Taliban controversy
Quote:
Fox News has run an extended feature on EA's controversial decision to allow gamers to play as the Taliban in the multiplayer mode of Medal Of Honor.
The US TV station - which has butted heads with EA before, in more smirk-raising circumstances - remained surprisingly even-handed throughout the discussion.
The network's Fox & Friends presenter described the game as "allowing players to play as The Taliban against the US, with the objective of gunning down American troops".
He then passed over to Karen Meredith, a Gold Star Mom whose son died in the Iraq War.
She commented: "War is not a game, period. The fact that they've already done games about World War 2... that's far removed from our current history, people aren't dying in World War 2 any more.
"Right now, we're going into a really, really, bad time in Afghanistan. We've just come off of the worst month of casualties in the whole war. This game is going to be released in October, so families that are burying their children are going to be seeing this... It's disrespectful.'
An EA response read out on the show read:
'Medal Of Honor is set in today's war, putting players in the boots of today's soldier... We give gamers the opportunity to play both sides. Most of us have been doing this since we were seven. If someone's the cop, someone's got to be the robber, someone's got to be the pirate, somebody's got to be the alien. In Medal Of Honor multiplayer, someone has to be the Taliban.'
Fox's anchor then suggested that the average age of a gamer in the US is 39 - and asked Meredith whether adults shouldn't be allowed to choose whether or not to play the game.
Meredith showed decent knowledge of the subject - and said that public pressure led to Sony's Shock & Awe and Atomic Games' Six Days In Fallujah being pulled from release schedules.
She added: "My son didn't get to start over when he was killed. His life was over and I had to deal with that every day. There's 1200 families from Afghanistan that have to live with this every day.
"And we live it - it's not a game... EA is very cavalier about it: 'Well, it's just a game.' But it isn't a game to the people who are suffering from the loss of the children and loved ones."
DICE, which created the multiplayer section of Medal Of Honor for EA, has said it wasn't intending to "push or provoke too hard" with the Taliban content.
"Herp derp, it's just fine to play as a brave, amercan soldier and gun down endless amount of japs/arabs/krauts. But oh no, don't you dare let them shoot back."
Also, she's talking like there's only casaulties on one side of the war. How does she think the families of the people her son likely killed felt?
