no one is debating the purpose of dlc, or even the POTENTIAL of dlc when its used properly... hes talking about the way dlc is currently been using (ie irrelevant and pointless dlc extensions that dont 'add' anything worthwhile)

they add "cool shiny armor" for just 34,99$ !!! Holy shit , I rather drink some more from that smirnoff bottle and have my own way of dragon armor than download some shit wich actually add "dragon armor" in some game...who the fuck cares about dragon and his armor anyway?

when me3 rolls out and they put ALL the dlc into one set and charge 15 bucks for it, and me2 is down to about 20, id buy that Very Happy

anyway installed the latest weapons pack... the pistols actually kinda fun, its the only dlc weapon so far that i find fun to use actually.... or maybe im like a magpie when shiny blue lightbeams are around.. but seriously, the gun is fun... not WORTH PAYING FOR kinda fun or anything though...

It is kind of cool actually, but I wouldn't buy it either. I have no issue with the mission/story based ones being a couple bucks but it's seriously outrageous that EA is asking for money for these weapon and outfit packs.

LMFAO! those weapons are sooooooo overpowered.....my shepard is level 6 and i dont even die on insanity. I use the kestrel armor (or however its called) + those new weapons. Shepard is a god now....insanity is now very very very easy if you are a soldier. I don't want to know how the game would be if you play on easy with those armor and weapons Laughing

A bit random, but I thought I'd share - a Pull power bug - encountered it sometimes myself.
For some inexplicable reason this video never fails to make laugh:

General question about DLCs: once you install them, can you deactivate them, like in Dragon Age ?

ASUS GTX 660 2GB, AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE, MSI 870-G45, 4GB DDR3 1333, Plextor M5 Pro 128GB, WD Red 1TB

never occured to me to check... but why would you want to? There is no dlc in the game that adds 'extra features' or anything that you cant simply 'deactivate' by just not using it.

but no, i dont think so? havent seen anything like that...

Just deleting them manually will deactivate them.

They are found in Mass Effect 2\BioGame\DLC folder.

For example, if I wanted to play the game again, this time without using any DLC weapons, I would have to remember which ones not to use, and there are quite a lot of them (I have all DLCs installed). Deactivating them a'la Dragon Age would be much simpler.

yeah ok fair enough then.

side-note though: to me, second play through would be THE time to use them for me, because I had allready played the game through without enjoying them during the main story campaign... or did you use the dlc weapons on your first playthrough?

Yes I did, I played with all DLCs up to Cerberus Weapon and Armor. And I want more challange on my second playthrough so I upped the difficulty and don't want to use any DLC weapons and armor. For example, the heavy weapon from Terminus DLC was overpowered IMO. It kills a group of enemies with 1 shot, that's a bit lame.

Oh well, I guess I'll just reinstall the game and install only mission DLCs. That would be Zaeed, Normandy, Hammerhead, Kasumi and Overlord, right ?

EDIT
@ Predator_Soul
As I said, when you have all DLCs installed there are lots of new weapons, it's not that easy to remember which ones are vanilla and which ones are DLC.

well the guy above said you can just delete them manually. try that.

and after dragon age's dlc utterly broke the game, i have a 'no dlc first time through' policy now Wink

Chances are you wouldn't have bought it if the whole game + all DLC cost you 40€.
You also wouldn't have bought it @ 30€ as much as you wouldn't have @ 20€, respectively 10€.

How far does brain damage have to creep in to utter ridiculously dumb statements like these and not noticing how corrupt you already are? You are a f**king pirate. You wouldn't pay for it if the whole game cost you 0.99€ and BioWare also threw in free autographs and a pirate-nerd-sized t-shirt…

Conclusion:
The only "fags" I can see here are the pirates who keep complaining about prizes they didn't pay in the first place. What's the point?
You didn't pay anything and you never would, you are just stuttering up some lame-ass excuses to justify your bad conscience...

You stole it? At least have the guts to admit it and give us a review about your game experience... but stealing something and pretending you would have bought it if it wasn't for the prize (DUH!) is just pure decadence...

I don't care what you think of the prizes - you didn't pay them anyway.
Tell me how this game is, compare it to others you have played, whatever, but spare me that hypocritical bullshit, thank you.

What's the point? If the prizes of DLC are your only problem with the game, what exactly are you complaining about?
the point is they serve cut contend from this game as DLC {see vanilla ME2 on PC or XBOX360 ,those already have all dlc files in there you only buy a fucking key to unlock it and then you only download a sound pack Laughing } to make more profit over time ... then releasing the FULL DEAL NOT CUT GAME

On top of this, quite a lot of people on this forum are actually sentient enough to a point where they are ready to pay for quality games to encourage the production of more of them. I bought ME2 myself, but along the lines of Hfric's post I also pirated much of the DLC since I to put it bluntly felt entitled to it with what I already spent on the game itself.
There's basically a good and a bad way of treating your fans, and portioning out DLC that should have been included at release with a price tag on it in lieu of tight-ass DRM, would definitely be bad.

LOL he's a troll because he calls you out on stealing a game and then bitching about it? If you don't like the DLC don't buy it. You aren't "entitled" to a damn thing. Games are a luxury, not bread and water to keep you alive.

Hello rhagz, you've been pbanned 3 times now, despite you said you might as well get banned as you didn't care about this board. Yet you keep on coming back here and dictate what people can or can't do. ~Epsilon
