What is a joke? You've seen my screen, I don't have system32 folder.

@alucard_xs Don't worry, important files in Windows 7 are protected from deleting. Wink

I did what Neon suggested and finally I can use PhysX on medium even on my ATI 4870 without a consistent framerate loss. I'd say - 5/6 fps, which is totally bearable if you ask to me. Wink

you'd better not deleting the system32 folder because, You won't be able to boot your computer in safe mode anymore.

I think physX is stoopid anyway so I had it deactivated all the time, not interested in ruining frame rate for a few breaking woodparts, it looks good as it is, just a shame it has the usual regenerating health

Removing system32 might help, but I got a huge performance boost by running live electric wires over my video card. It gives it extra power to really speed up the game. Other things you can do:

* Pour coke on it (caffeine AND sugar!).
* Take the video card on a very fast airplane so it knows how to run fast
* Threaten the video card so it will run fast, else be destroyed
* Bribe the video card by shoving cash into the air intake hole
* Run the game at the highest settings for a while to give it a workout, then lower the settings and it should be more fit and faster
* Defrag the video card
* Use chewing gum to block the other PCI-E slots so the motherboard won't keep checking them

etc..

Its sad how the nvidia marketing ploy called Physx works, so many forums and even youtube people want to get it to work or ATI users who regret not having it.....

Apparently it will be like this - "Vito health will regenerate only half way. To fill the other half of the life bar you must either sleep, or eat a meal to bring that other half up." Not perfect, but better than full regen.

The version is a bit newer from .552 to .553 but the files appear to be identical after checking them, however these apparently don't have the issue where after installation PhysX is set to CPU mode. Smile
(A bug in the other drivers, can also be fixed by reinstalling them as probably mentioned, the .553 drivers were already posted a few pages back as was the tweak on how to disable NPC cloth effects to really boost performance.)

What you mean Sabin? I don't have system32 folder at all Rolling Eyes

And it works perfectly, over 15 FPS increase in both Crysis and Mafia on FULL HIGH APEX PHYSX.

Stop trolling for once, will you? Cool Face

Sorry but I can tell from the pixels that this image was shopped!!!

But renaming the system32 folder to syswow64 increased my speed by ~23%. Not bad for a dual core, right?

I must be getting old but man... these jokes are so 1990 Sad

Anyway, I answered my own question and I'll be buying another rig soon in order to play PhysicX the way it was meant to be played.

Coming next: "Rent a GFLOP". Swipe your credit card in the designated slot (included for free!) - just for 1$5 a month, get 40 fps in PhysX and ApeX on high; every consecutive swipe will give you 5 fps more for 2 hours!

why is everyone so keen on playing everything all maxed out and is ready to pay big sums for a pitiful "feature" such as physX, the game plays and looks FINE without any kind of physX turned on, fucking nerds and their OCD syndrome

Too bad the console derps are reserved for consoles. A physx derp would be mana from heaven right now. My cousin just called and said he's buying two GTX 470...
I'm guessing he would have bought four of em if it could fit into his case.
God I hate him for having so much money. I wouldn't care that much about the cards, but he's replacing two GTX 460!!!!
And I could barely scrounge up cash for a 9800GT
