Yeah, that's in Media Blitz.. and it's DEFINITELY a secret. I honestly can't think of a single reason why you'd want to go out of your way to find, let alone destroy, a completely generic building - so missing the secret mission is altogether possible.

I wouldn't call that building generic, It's a science facility from sc1! lol. they took it out of the game from sc1 but put it in that mission for old fans I guess.

Fuck this game is hard on Hard, I guess they call it that for a reason, it's more frustrating than anything especially on time-limited missions.

U should see the last mission. Managed to finish all the mission on hard except the last one.
LOW FPS + the flood of enemy units= Epic fail in the last 5 seconds.

Normal is easy, but hard is really hard, at least later missions (not so much a first few).

Stop StarCraft II From Melting Your PC's Face Off
Network NewsX Profile

Matt Peckham

"Blizzard admits certain StarCraft II menu screens can "make your hardware work pretty hard." Screens "light on detail," that is, which makes no sense, until you read that it's because--left to twiddling its digital thumbs--the game works to draw these screens "very quickly," sort of like revving your car engine with the gearstick in neutral.

Well now there's a temporary fix until Blizzard's had a chance to properly patch things.

According to a note on the company's official message board,

"Screens that are light on detail may make your system overheat if cooling is overall insufficient. This is because the game has nothing to do so it is primarily just working on drawing the screen very quickly. A temporary workaround is to go to your Documents\StarCraft II\variables.txt file and add these lines:

You may replace these numbers if you want to.

If your card already went all Three Mile Island, you'll want to contact Blizzard Support. There's been no official word they'll do anything for you (no one's certain the "overheating issue" was capable of actually damaging GPUs) but if you're pretty sure StarCraft II murdered your video card, as they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained."

with the right Micro/Mecro and using the right Units on a certain missions you can still quite easily finish most of the missions of the game, even on Hard...

I'm enjoying this game somewhat but what pisses me off the most is alls the opponents have to do to defeat you is mass(litrally mass) troops and just send them to your base.
Easy win.

You can't.
They just bombard you with loads of units.
Impossible to defeat or counter.

are you talking about insane AI? AI cheats at higher levels, I heard that they get higher income per trip to the mineral / gas.. so it's important to do a well timed attack around 15 min in.. or else they just out macro you.

I got the 1v7 insane AI FFA a while ago, had to do just that + luck lol.

@Theescapist
You should watch some Youtube links with tactics. All units they build and rush with you can have at the same time + a bit more. Its all about timing.

What i experience lately is that FUCKING PROTOS players build their fucking base next to my base to only use turrets and decide a game in 5 minutes. Sad
Its allmost impossible to win like this and i think the Protos have a advantage above other races with the possibility to build without the use of scv. It ruins the fucking gameplay.

Btw: this game + bad company 2 online made me realize i'm a crappy player and better play turn based games Very Happy ... i just dont have that fucking speed to beat those new generation wizz kids.

It's a cheese tactic, you can counter it by scouting good around your base and reacting accordingly. If you scout around your base and notice a pylon and see no buildings in his base then just plant 2 raxes and pump out marines to take care of his soon to be made photon cannons. once the plan fails other player will be too far behind and you can either push with a early mid game attack or expand and just get a fast 100+ army then push and take it.

The part of protoss not having to build is a part of their macro. Protoss macro is more forgiving but unit compos and units are more complex when it comes to protoss. You have it easy as a terran, you can even continue on lategame with marine, marauders, ghost and medivac against a protoss while the protoss must tech up to either HT to feedback your ghost in order to avoid EMP and get totally crushed + psi storm or go for colossus to burn out your army.

And even then with colossus you can just pump out vikings to take care of the colossus without no tech upgrade and load up your ghosts in the medivacs to avoid feedback and just pop out quick for the EMP.

There a lot of sides to each race Wink also don't worry about being fast. APM is something that comes after playing a lot and coming up with a control group system that fits you. Once you hotkey everything correctly and practice it you will easily get to 100 APM and that's enough for SC2, take a look at whitera. Brood war is another story where you need to be fast. The only tips I can really give you is to keep playing and always scouting for cheese tactics, i know they're common in lower leagues.

It isnt about squeezing money this time i think... If you see the amount of missions given in this release it really fair to other games we're you get to play all races in campaign mode.

How does standalone allows them to squeeze more money? Shouldn't they sell expansion packs to force people to buy the 1st in order to play the others?

I think it might be a good move but.. I am curios how will they solve the Zerg campaign and walking around a slimy cantina Laughing cerebretes on the bar, a zergling on the pinball machine and hydrlisk playing spit-darts.

What about all the dialog, who will you be talking too, unless they figure out how to solve this I will say this was a bad idea, they can't take the easy way out now and just slap as with missions without walking around the ship first, they should deliver what they promised which is 3 equal campaigns.

The ("Heart of the Swarm") Zerg campaign is, according to Blizzard, totally different - play wise - to the Terran and Protoss ones. Zerg campaign is more of an RPG, so I presume it won't just be the Terran one reskinned.

..... though this IS Blizzard we're talking about, and SC2 is absolutely nothing but a reskin of SC1, with a mid-mission "graphic adventure" part tacked on Laughing

I've heard that protoss campaign will be more diplomatic. There will be lots of independent protoss tribes, and if you ally with one you get access to some of their units/abilities, but can anger some other faction and similar stuff.
