DS Portable??????????? its only about 1cm smaller than the PSP!!!! and its Fatter when closed!!

Get your facts right before you post Rolling Eyes Wink

You said in another thread that the GP32 Is not very portable, If you stick by what you are saying about the GP32 then the DS is Certainly not portable Wink

The PSP might cost more but you get what you pay for and thats Quality Games Smile look at the difference -

PSP -

DS -

I would rather play games like GTA etc that have violence etc than kids games (Yes I do like Mario) Smile

Portable as in, how long it lasts without a charge. Maybe your the moron? Who knows. Yeah, you get GAMES that LOOK better, but they may not all be QUALITY. The entire point of the DS is a new way to play games.

mchart i have noticed you flame it for not being POCKET SIZED so i think you're backtracking... anyway i do agree that i do think the games on the DS will be more involving than some flashy graphics. Also amazon.co.uk seems to think it'll be 170+ so i believe them i find it hard to believe it'll be 100 or even 150. i hope it's 100 though because nintedo will have to lower thier DS to 50 and i can get both! Very Happy

If you really want one with some games, send the money to me, and Ill buy you one and some games, then ship it to you. It's always fun purchasing a nintendo product Very Happy

No, I was critisizing the thing for having sucky battery life. Also, the thing does have issues with the fact that you have to baby it when you carry it around. That giant screen is just asking for scratches, finger prints, and possible breakage.

Mchart - as i'm a DS & PSP owner i think i have the right to say your comments are totally untrue, the DS and PSP both fit into a pocket very easy and the batteries last plenty long enough on both.

All i would say is YES you have to be more careful with PSP in pocket and make sure you get a decent case for it to go into as out of the 2 the Ds is more durable with its clam shell style, but i wouldn't want to put either in my backpocket and sit down on them, lol

I read a review about the Ridge Racer DS, it stated that the usage of the touch screen as a wheel in theory might be good but it was far from pratical and stearing with the D Pad wasnt either any good.

That a product has a novelty (Touch screen) does not make it great if the implementation of it by the dev isnt well done. And alot of games only the touch screen as a map.

I am not interested in the DS soley due to that the few games I like will be ported to the PSP, GT4, and WE/PES. The idea to play movies/tv rips on the PSP is interesting. But I am not sure if it will be good due to the small size.

Now that the PSP and DS are compeating is great. But it is stupid for a costumer to take a side in a war fought between companies to get costumers. Just buy what fits your needs and be happy with it, do not bash the other side for having different wants.

You are the Moron and you are talking out of your ass again Razz.. You didnt mean portable as in battery life... Any way The DS has 6 - 10 hours Battery life and the PSP has 6 - 8 hours Battery life...

You gotta admit that Even when the Guy that Imports and sells the DS and PSP starts saying that the PSP is much better then its gotta be true Smile -

If it were a race the PSP would be a sleek muscle car, probably a V12 while the DS would be a car made from old washing machines and fridges. Have I explained enough how much this system is going to blow your face clean off your head?

Mchart, you said the PSP Takes Ages to load, You are talking crap -

The PSP runs quite amazingly from CD, mini CD's go into the back and load up just like on a PS2. Load time is minimal and you don't really notice.

You can upgrade the size of the memory stick (things like 1GB which is more than enough for a film on that size of a screen)... Even films encoded to take up 128MB of space look good on a portable screen Very Happy

ah, its not that much of a problem Very Happy -

PSP Screen = 4.3 Inch
GP32 Screen = 3.5 Inch

Watching Films on my GP32 is easy and I have no problem (thats with 2 hour films compressed to 124mb as well and the quality is perfect Smile )

4.3Inch might sound small, but when you actaully see it and start watchign a film on it, you will relise its perfect and no problem at all Very Happy

Why dont you take the time to read every one of my posts. Of course I meant battery life. And 6-8 hours? Dont make me laugh. It has a MAX of 6 hours with backlight on, using headphones.

6 hours is more than enough time anyway... Your not going to honestly sit there playing a hand held for 6 hours straight are you?????

Also The battery can be removed so you can fit a bigger mah rating battery in the future for longer Play times Very Happy

Ok, the DS has a better battery life. What's there more to it? Now the costumer will decide if it is important for him/her and if this person will be able to charge every night. I guess the PSP will have to be charged every night for me, not maybe because of 5-6 game time, but due that I will use the functions of watching TV-shows on it.

but the "bush" is the PSP has poor battery quality making it not portable. he just proved that 6 hours is enough time to play a game.

Also, Maybe the DS does give 2 hours extra life, but say you play it for 6 hours a day you will still have to to charge it over night Smile Razz

PSP games will not all be quality? Oh I forgot how good DS games are lol...

The DS is not a new way to play games, I remember playing Tiger Wood 99 on a Palm touchscreen ages ago... or maybe you meant the double screen thing that we played on old "game and watch" machines back in the 80's...

Have a PSP, I may get a DS for fanboy love. As for the portability argument, I work 400 miles away from my home, I recently travelled back by train and had no issues with pulling my PSP out playing it, having a rest and doing it again 30 mins later, for the entire 6+ hour journey. The only reason the 6 hour battery life (which is not fact btw Razz) would be an issue, is if they released FF7..

I would love to get a PSP, but $250 and $50 for each game is too damn much! You guys should join me in trying to get a free one... http://www.FreePSPs.com/?r=15467120

I own a DS, but I wouldnt recommend it to anyone until later this year when the games finally start coming out... though it is nice to be able to play old GBA games with fantastic lighting.
