i just got my jgdpz4 a couple of days ago and i wouldnt say that its much,much better, its only 'better'. the larger hp pool is great, and it does feel like the 75mm fires faster. but what i had started doing with the stug (after playing the slow as hell hetzer) was that i tried to lead or join counterattacks, after doing a bit of defensive job as a TD should. with the jgdpz4 (best engine/tracks) its a bit harder to go for fast counterattacks, since it climbs mountains so slowly.
although i guess i should factor in that on the stug my crew was 90%+ while right now on jgdpz4 the crew is only 80%+, and it should accelerate faster as the crew gets better.

Oh, and don't use the first 88mm. It's pretty bad, and just a massive money waster. It's less accurate, fires slower, only does about 70 or so more damage, and it has less penetration. |

You can see it here. The top two guns are the JagdpanzerIV top tier guns compared. Below are the Jagdpanther guns which got a much better/bigger 88 then the Jgdpnz4 one.

Conclusion: Don't use the 88 on Jgdpnz4. Stick with the Stuk42 L/70. Does much more DPS and got better Penetration.

Well, that's your problem. Don't use the JgPz IV as a tank. It's a sniper, and an excellent one at that. I have no problems sniping heavy tanks from 500+ meters.

That's cause the 105mm for the Hetzer and up until the JagdPanther is an assault gun. They're supposed to use HE exclusively, and were designed to destroy fortifications. They fired low-velocity shells, and low-velocity can't really pierce any kind of respectable armor.

You won't see any medium and heavy tanks until you start doing Standard Battles, which you should only be doing once you get your Tier 3 vehicle.

I didn't find getting out of tier 3 or 4 too bad, but it seems like a huge leap from there to a million credit tier 5 tank... Going to try and get in a VK3601, they seem like the preferred credit farmer at the moment.

The 88 does much more damage.
If i hit, i want to do as much damage as possible and that's where the 88 is better.
I'm killing more since i switched to the 88

Then you're obviously playing your TD wrong. TDs are snipers, they need as accurate a gun as possible. That is there the 75mm excells.

Pz3A and Pz3 make excellent scouts lol ~65 max speed, more armor than light tanks, a gun that can actually hurt something..

Got mine PzJg4 finally! Currently have Leopard, Pz3/4 (going for Panther), Pz4 (going for Tiger and Hummel), PzJg4 (going for JagPanter) and Wespe (my first attempt for Hummel, before I saw that you can research it on Pz4).
