New curiosity.

I modified my config.ini to reflect yours above, and without changing resolution entered the game.
In the game I modified to fit my own (1920*1200), quit and what do you know, the userconfig.ini has changed to reflect this........

EDIT: Ok this gets more and more spooky.
So, the userconfig.ini changed to reflect my settings, i enter the game, check Options and it's back to default.........the game is saving my chosen settings, but it resets all to default every time I start it.

EDIT2: Changed the userconfig.ini to 1920*1200, entered the game, options says 1920*1200, quit the game, start game again, everything reset to default.

Something doesn't seem to be getting accessed properly or is restricted somehow, is any anti-virus solutions running?
(It shouldn't affect this though since it's not modified/cracked in any way.)

What happens if you move the game folder to D:\"Gamefolder"\ to cut the file path length?
(Ideally move it to C:\ somewhere to see if it's one of those problems where it has to be on the primary disc to work.)

EDIT: That data is uploaded should it be needed, though it seems everything is OK based on these latest bits of info but something is preventing it from functioning properly for some reason though what and how?
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KPSB3V5B
(All I can give is suggestions but this seems very odd, XP compatibility on the EXE might help but that shouldn't be needed either and I don't use it and if it was a problem everyone would need it if using Vista or W7.)

I killed the Antivirus several re-installs back to avoid any such issue.

Im gonna download the file to try and see if that changes anything, then move the install to another folder further up the hierachy.

It's quite a odd issue and very strange that nothing worked, I'll have to think about it but it might need a patch to fix some obscure issue or something on certain configurations.

Downloaded and mine works fine. Windows 7 Ultimate and installed in its own directory.

Finally they added the option that 1 day = one round = 1 year like the first game. The 1 day = 4 years pissed me off on the original guild 2 game that I bought.

Ok just in case someone else gets a problem, I actually found a solution.

Using the config.ini I disabled the Splashscreen (set it to 0) and changed my Graphic settings directly in that and..........boom it works.

Very very very odd

How do we repair a pirate ship? Ship is at my port and the repair button is highlighted but when I press it, it doesn't do anything.

The game runs great for me and I really enjoy this new expansion to a series I already loved but I would recommend waiting a few more days before playing this. From what I understand a patch will be out day of release or soon after that will fix a lot of bugs and also add some stuff like a new map. The current release is fun but there are a number of game breaking bugs such as your children becoming bugged and completely unplayable if you send them to the nobleman's for schooling or to the guard captain. It also appears that the new war feature is broken in this release. No matter what on the second turn of the start of a new game you will go to war and then when it is over whether you win or lose you will go the rest of the game without ever getting another one.

I'm hesitant to try this game even though it looks fun, I've read several comments about adware being included with the release installer, has anyone had similar issues?

Nothing I noticed, though I used universal extractor to unpack the Inno setup archives instead of installing it but even so the installer looks clean.
(Perhaps it's related to the autorun or some of the bundled redists though I delete such stuff from the image after unpacking it and just run or extract the setup data directly.)

Anyone played this in multiplayer yet?

I just started and noticed there's no way to change the 'years per turn' to 1, it's annoying to age 4 years per turn. Can't really enjoy just making money and handling the shop, but gotta go out actively and court women :I

So... anyone found solution to this? ie. changing some of the .lua files...
