|
 |
Hi all,
I have this prob:
I own a Tushiba 29" Hyper Progressive Scan but NO HDTV.
The TV has Compostie inputs, S-Video and Component. After a little research I've got the idea that Component is the best quality. I bought Component Cables, however, the quality didn't seem to be better than S-video, moreover, it seems to be even worse - the colors seems to be washed out, less crisp and vibrant.
Can someone share with me some wisdom regarding this issue?
Thanks.
K.

He seems to be asking whether component should be better than S-video, which it should.
All that can really be asked, though, is what type of component cable you have. Cabling differs in quality, in how well it transmits the signal, so this may have something to do with it.
I'm no expert on the subject though, just trying to eliminate any possible problems. If anyone else you know, has a component cable, try theirs, and see if it makes a difference.

ive been through all kinds of video cables, from crap brand to top of the line and i gotta tell you, i see no difference. just so long as the connecters are firmly in place. component probably wont show any difference compared to s video unless your tv displays hd. it is a tad sharper in regular display, but nothing to spend money over. i have hd and when it comes on theres a great difference. curious though, whats hyper progressive because progressive scan is hd

Progressive scan is merely scanning line by line instead of interlacing. DVD uses 480p at most, compared to 1080i of minimal hdtv. I don't believe you can obtain HD resolutions with s-video, and the difference in quality could be how the tv is resampling the signal (tried other resolutions?).

where did you search
s-video rules big time over component and rgb-scart rules over s-video
you'll see the big difference between rgb-scart and s-video opposed to
component when you swich between them when playing on any console

progressive scan produces more zigzag, especially in 480p
the component has innate advantage to s-video, cauz its rgb signal is seperated
my recommendation is s-video to ps2 and component to xbox
