Been debating whether or not to post this because i know the people here are really random in the shit they like and shit they flat out hate (ie pretty much everything), but fuck it, why not... let me introduce you to a movie i had heard about, ignored for ages, eventually decided why the fuck not, downloaded it, left it on my hdd ignored for a while, decided i may as well watch it so that i could delete it, watched, laughed, watched more, got bored, watched more, and then laughed my ass off for the rest of the movie. Definitely decided to keep it instead of deleting it. So without any further ado:
A TOWN CALLED PANIC
if you don't mind subs, can handle French comedy, are in the right frame of mind, and don't mind your movies bat shit crazy and full of self parody and over the top performances, give this a try.
if you CANT handle a film thats crazy, has kinda shoddy stop motion animation with plastic toys, hate subbed movies, REQUIRE a sensible 'deep' plot, and otherwise don't like laughing, or hate the French, then AVOID the movie. You've been warned!
Plot:
Animated plastic toys like Cowboy, Indian and Horse have problems, too. Cowboy and Indian's plan to surprise Horse with a homemade birthday gift backfires when they destroy his house instead. Surreal adventures take over as the trio travel to the center of the earth, trek across frozen tundra and discover a parallel underwater universe where pointy-headed (and dishonest!) creatures live. With panic a permanent feature of life in this papier mâché town, will Horse and his girlfriend ever be alone?
And like i said... you really have to be in the right frame of mind to watch this kinda thing... if you are, you'll find a zany but charming animated movie with loads of laughs and its kinda endearing too. hope you guys enjoyed it as much as i did, and if you didnt, well fuckin fine then, see if i care
can only see a dvdrip.. its pretty clear its a independent cheap foreign production (not insulting the movie, just stating the truth) so id be honestly surprised (but pleasantly so) if it ever got a hd release...
