I did love SC, just guess I kinda grew tired of the genre and the bloated graphics.

Yet, of course its prettier than SC but you can barely see an overview because the units are so large. I liked the old game a lot better, despite the graphics being very small.

And the ingame sequences rub me the wrong way by looking so fake computer generated. I had hoped for my realistic looking videos.

Oh well, big disappointment for me but I am sure others will still love it though Smile

I'm loving the RPG concept of the Hyperion. Getting units based on the missions we take, upgrading them how we want them AND buying mercs makes it fell unique.

Of course, Lost Viking arcade and Sweet Home Alabama music on the cantina is awesome.

So this new campaign pretty much plays out like the DoW2 one? Nice. If there's a decent SP campaign (completely uninterested in MP) with some RPG aspects, I guess I'll check it out Very Happy

Similar, yes. It's still the same old base-and-forces building, but the progress in-game depends alot on the missions and bonus objectives we take. I was even surprised to see the firebat, since it's not on the MP.

Done 4 missions so far, two simple destroy the enemy base, one timed holdout and one escort mission. Of course, it's the beginning of the game, all we have are marines and medics (and now firebats on my case).

Awesome, thanks a lot! As for the Firebat, didn't Bliz already say that they couldn't balance it properly in MP - so they just left it in SP instead? No doubt it'll come to MP with one of the other expansions.

Yes.

Right when we get the first Hyperion mission, we have two choose between two planets. One getting some artefact from the Protoss and other the colony escort away from the Zerg. The first gives us Marauders, the second Firebats.

There is also Protoss and Zerg tech points from each mission, but haven't yet figured out what they are for. Oh, each mission gives us money, so the upgrades and mercs can be bought.

Choose between? Can you do both, or is it one choice and one choice only? :\

So far, seems we can do both (still got in on my star map), but I do know that there will be choices in the future, even affecting the story of characters on the Hyperion.

OK, the concept of this mission is awesome. There is a refugee colony that was infested by a virus and turned everyone into zerg-infested humans. The awesome part of it is that they die with sun light. So, we can attack their base during the day, BUT we have to retreat and protect ours during the night.

nice, i dont like the winner but hopefully this can shut the zerg whiners up. Zerg is quite good if you really utilize everything, nydus, transfuse on ultras endgame etc.
