Yeah its not smooth and pretty like all the big budget ones, but the style works for me and it looks like a shitload of fun.
Produed, or directed (getting conflicting info on this, but who cares which!!!) by david fincher (this gives me high hopes for the new heavy metal movie!), and has clancy brown and that paul giamatti dude in it too. Im really looking forward to this, and glad i noticed it... and again, check out the trailer

Fincher is only a producer . Man this project sure took a while to take off , i remember back in the days while he was shooting Zodiac and talked about The Goon , hopefully Fincher will do Heavy Metal with James Cameron , Guillermo del Toro , Gore Verbinski and Zack Snyder
As for Fincher , sadly he'll direct a unnecessary remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo , i mean why ?!!? Talent gone down the drain , i'd rather he do something else , like Ness , The Killer , Black Hole and especially The Reincarnation of Peter Proud (Andrew Kevin Walker wrote the script). And the material isnt that fucking good , the movie was ALRIGHT at best , but nothing worth redoing .
Yeah the dragon tattoo remake.. meh.. again, i can only assume hes doing it because ever since he 'almost' got there with benjamin button, i think hes really got a hard-on for trying to get himself an oscar.. its the ONLY answer i can come up with as to some of the projects hes picking lately...

The Goon is a great comic, funny and doesn't bullshit around. Read it all and I can't wait for the movie. Paul Giamatti is a great choice for Franky..I would've hoped for traditional animation but I guess from a studios perspective, CGI is the way to go.
The humor in the comic is dark and right in the face and it looks like that continues

I don't know..a lot of what gets killed is supernatural so it's easy to circumvent the blood censoring but yea I definitely hope for an R rating, the humour is pretty adult, imo
