TQ (and its expansion which raised the game up another notch) was/is in my (and many other) opinion, the "best next thing" after diablo 2.

I agree with Yondaime that Blizzard is VERY talented at designing games both technically and artistic. Usually a developer is good at one of the above. I don't particularly like the 'comic' feel of Blizzards art direction though, but it's a minor niggle.

I think they have been going for the "comic" style lately since it is more timeless. Basically you can still look at WoW and yeah it could require some newer shaders or textures but it's still fine. When you look at other games with realistic graphics from when WoW or WC3 were released you would get eye cancer.
They also went with 2d sprites with Diablo 2 when all other developers went for 3d, and Diablo II can still be played nowadays because of it's high amount of fine details in the artwork, while all 3d games from back then suffer from incredibly low-res textures.
So I really trust Blizzards judgement, they always deliver great products.

As long as World of Warcraft exists another Warcraft game will never be made. And that is because I believe lore would be a pain in the ass to get right. Only option is to make a game based on World of Warcraft events, if not there would be gaps in World of Warcraft and i bet players would not be happy about that.

Thing is the past Warcraft games is connected to World of Warcraft and Blizzard is making the WoW players go trough everything. Well, TBH a Warcraft game set in past events would be pretty fucking awesome. And you seeing the results of said events in a expansionpack for WoW. And i mean events thats not already been covered in detail in past games but only perhaps mentioned. A campaing about Sargeras when he stopped being a titan to become who he is today and gathering kil'jaeden and archimonde. Stuff like that would be amazing. But thats imo.

World of Warcraft brings in TOO MUCH money to kill it. I highly doubt they will ever make World of Warcraft 2. They will just upgrade WoW with expansions and graphics upgrades and such.

and wc4 was pretty much confirmed in 2008 blizzcon and will use same 3 or 4 ( 4 races ) system they will in sc2 (aka 3 games blabla )

I don't see why the artstyle gets praised. It looks just like any run of the mill fantasy game.

Sometimes I get a brainburp, confuse Bullfrog and Blizzard, and think.... hmmm, so why don't they put a huge chunk of cash towards making another Dungeon Keeper game?
Epsilon: Game is great btw, I love it, so far it's a definite goty. It's remarkable how much has changed since the beta, stardock have been working their asses off, and it shows.

Could well end up with one, considering EA just renewed their patent a short while ago.

Not WoW 2 necessarily, but Blizzard IS making another MMO right now, it's been in the works for years and many of the original WoW dev team have moved on to work on it. Afaik there's not much known yet, except that it's a new original IP and will, according to mr. Satan (Kotick) be aimed at a 'broader audience'. There's been some speculation that it could for example be a mmo-fps with a scifi setting. So while it wouldn't directly compete with WoW, there's bound to be some subscribers looking to drop their WoW subscription and move on to the latest and greatest.
But of course Blizzard knows this, and maybe they'll try and move WoW into an even more casual-friendly approach, so you could just log in a few days a week and still stay competitive, whether in pvp or pve. So people could just have subscription to both games.
And about WoW - what they need to upgrade even more than textures are some of the models & animations. The races that have been in the game since the beginning are just terrible when compared to newer ones and the new expansion NPC's.

i'd love to see some of those "run of the mil fantasy" games that can hold a stick to Wo's Artstyle and Artistic coherence ...
