yea..even to roads are so fucking wide, where's the challenge in that ? ardace crap
The roads are expressly wide just because otherwise the game would be too demanding for console players. Let's make an example: Richard Burns Rally was released in 2004 for the PC, PS2 and Xbox and it provided the most realistic rally experience ever, still unsurpassed after almost 6 years. And guess what? The game didn't sell well just because it was too difficult for the average audience, as well as for the "reviewers" who labeled it as an overall mediocre title with no "wow" graphics.
Another shit racing game where the cars seem to pivot around some imaginary point on the car. Whether it's the center of mass, center of gravity, or just the center of the damn car model, who knows. But it's not right and it looks like crap.
Apparently the videos and screenshots that were released earlier were from an iPhone port (or so they claim). Here are new screens that are NOT from iPhone:
The guys at Drivingitalia.it tested an advanced build of the game and...
Pros (+)
- The game with all the aids off it's definitely simulative, so we'll NOT have a semi-sim/arcade but a title (almost) specular to RBR in terms of physics and realistic cars behaviour;
- A steering wheel is highly recommended (they tried the game with a G25+Playseat) and the ffb effects will be perfectly reproduced and influenced by the various road surfaces;
- The stages will be catalogued following a scale from 1 (easier) to 5 (more difficult). The guys at Drivingitalia tried some 5* tracks and said that the roads won't be as large and arcadey as those shown in all the gameplay videos;
- The cars are very well modeled and the graphics engine will provide a fully dynamic lightning;
Cons (-)
- Graphically talking, the game isn't that impressive. The textures are quite bad and the cockpits aren't as detailed as they should be. Plus the PC version suffered from an instable framerate.
- The cars sounds are horrible, sampled at low bitrate and characterized by a totally unrealistic and robotic feeling.
On a side note, the guy who was also at the F1 2010 conference said that WRC will be a lot more simulative than the Codie's game, and I don't know if this is a good news...
