I played the beta and is it me but it doesn't feel blizzard's polished ? Dunno, but War3 BETA (yes BETA !) felt a lot more polished than StarCraft 2. And anybody that will tell me : what did you expect ? It's just a follow up... Well, I Have a news for you, War3 was the follow-up to War2, and it didn't prevent them to change the game A LOT more !
Diablo 3 videos looks a lot more polished than what I saw (and played) about StarCraft 2...
EDIT : I buy every blizzard's games (except the WoW expansions) for a while now, but I'm gonna pass up on this one... Really disappointed.

Seriously? War3 beta was a mess. Buggy ugly and unbalanced for a very long time.
Maybe you don't actually mean polished because you're mentioning changes from sc1/wc2?
Changing stuff from one game to the next has nothing to do with polish.
And there are craploads of new things in the single player campaign. The multiplayer is totally different from the single player game.

if someone disagrees with you its talking out of his ass?
putting aside the buggy and dumbed down battlenet, the game still has way too many bugs and they added a few more with the beta2 (for example only mono or stereo speakers settings). voicechat still not working for most people, textures missing in the game. and the most vital thing hasnt happened yet, the game still hasn't transitioned from a rock paper scissor type of game. the game its good but im not the only one that feels disappointed. maybe its because of the massive talent leak they had when top people left to create Arenanet, and to a lesser extent when more poeple left to make Flagship Studios

Didn't want to re-open the full debate, but I can't resist resonponding to that common argument.
No money for the game? If you need money for something else, and have enough sense not to invest money in (expensive?) games, don't invest in a gaming-grade PC either.
You'll also save on eletricity bills, you may be able to save on your Internet subscription, and maybe with the additional non-gaming time, you'll be able to earn more money that you need for something esle.
Plus, if you desesperately need to play games, there are still good deals around.
> Always nice to see sanctimonious anti-piracy comments, on a piracy forum.
Personally, I'm here because there is much talk about games and related news, from people who play a lot of games, who play betas, and sometimes full versions before they are released Talk about tweaking, ... There is more than just talk about scene releases.
Sorry for contributing to the piracy discussion. I know the place, what it's about, and where such a discussion will lead. I just can't resist to give my opinion, when reading that argument of "can't afford to buy". Will... try not to do that again

Hehe, you see, that is why we have the so called "iso demos" ( ) to help us decide whether a game is worthy of a purchase or not.

I think i'll end up leeching it too, so I hope a crack will come here quickly so I can try the SP compaign. The MP in the beta definitely didn't do anything to me....

That's irrelevant you're still a dirty scum sucking pirate who steals money from publishers through your ability to not buy their games.
I have no plans to purchase or otherwise play SC2.

Yeah but to the business world and people who make the products, they see it as you aren't forced to play video games. It's not like stealing food as pirates seem to act like. You can do LOTS of stuff for free, or play old games, multiplayer etc. Exercise, the gym, martial arts, etc. You do no thave to sit inside all day playing video games and having to steal new ones because you have no money to buy new ones to fuel your addiction. It's like me becoming addicted to crack, sitting inside and smoking crack all day and saying its justified when I go rob "rich people" or rich drug dealers of their drugs and it's not stealing because I didn't have the money anyways.
I am not trying to act all holy because in my youth I did NOTHING BUT PIRATE GAMES, and I even now still pirate stuff like ubisofts drm crap with their 10 dollar extra price. But overall, through steam and retail, it's pretty easy to find good games cheap, and why would you sit there and play a bad game to completion. It's like going to Mc Donalds and buying a big mac, then saying you did not like it and you want your money back, but you ate the whole thing.
But pirating games is for kids who can't afford them and maybe poor people from other countries. But it is still wrong and to act like you ned new games to plya everyday or you'll die is how I see a lot of pirates act and justify their stealing. If you ever had to make art, films, music, video games as a future career, you would be very hurt in the future when you see that 100000 people downloaded your game and even if only 1% had the money to buy it you are still losing money which can make the difference of being hired again to make another product.

if you like a game enough to bother to find a way to play it for free online with other people, then in my humble opinion you should buy it.
I am obviously not saying buy every game you dled or any such nonsense ...

Buying every game no matter how good hurts us because they keep making crappy games since it sold good they think it must be good; but at the same time every good game that is not bought hurts us because they won't make a sequal if enough people don't buy it.
Sadly thats why we are dealing with second hand console ports half of the time instead of games built for the pc like everyone in here remanisces about.
Sorry to everyone for being cranky and trying to change peoples point of view. I just get frusterated when it's compared to other things or they claim it's like their lifeblood and they can't help but to steal. And very frusterated with the lack of good pc titles built for pc lately.
Your pirating/pillaging/raiding whateve ryou want to call it others profit, it would be like somoene forging a paiting which is what file sharing is when youd on't have a license. I can download whatever program from whoever I want if they have a license and the peopel that are downloading from me on the torrents have a license.
This is why thye need something better than onlive but thats like a combo of it and steam where you can rent games by the hour/day or download the full game and have 30-60 mins to play it and decide if you want to buy it. Would save us from downloading huge games that we might not like from torrents just to test if they work right on our pc and to test if they are worth buying. But 4.95 a month membership to onlive to play demos at low quality is not worth it, they need one that has the optiosn of streaming or downloading so you can see if it works on your pc before buying it (while the streaming would just be for gameplay purposes or for people with very very slow pcs who want to see the gameplay)

You need to open you eyes up. As much as corporate publishers want you to believe piracy is the downfall of PC gaming, it is clearly not. As you say, retarded games selling a lot is the cause. Why is it that good PC games still sell, despite piracy being present? Why have you not heard a peep from Relic that their game has not sold well? Or Stardock (who even release their games unprotected)? Indeed, you only hear it from derp-inducing publishers and developers who make games for retards, err sorry, I mean current generation console players. Claiming this is not true is tucking your head in the sand and playing right into corporate whores' hands.
Another aspect is the ridiculous DLC bullshit that is thrown at retards and they just churn the cash for it no questions asked! "Sun glasses for 600 MSP!? Bought!"

kind of a poor example... a picture of a painting does not create a high quality duplicate that is every bit as good as the original
pirating a film, however, creates a duplicate that is every bit as good as the original. (yeah ok so the quality might be a TINY bit lower, but the enjoyment value and the worth of the duplicate is equal)
the day people can mass-clone and distribute virtually 1:1 copies of art, is the day ill agree with that example.
not wanting to get into a debate though... im a pirate, im under no illusions about what i do, all im saying is trying to compare movie piracy to taking a picture of a painting, is as silly as all those people trying to compare stealing a car to downloading a movie...
piracy was never the death of pc gaming. consoles were
