when the guy who wrote the review was asked how long it would take to go over the atlantic.. he said "25 minutes of real time at 1024x"

so to travel across the atlantic in 1x time.. it will take...... 25600 Minutes?? Very Happy

It's all good, it's a simulator.
Just like flightsim if it takes 2 hours to fly somewhere in real life, so it does in flightsim.
I love realism, gimme more Very Happy

The review is a bit exagerated. Only uber perfect games get 100%, 10/10 is another thing. And I don't think I've seen a 100% rated game before in a review by a big known reviewing page. Just look at the graphics, they are great, but now worth 10/10.

Ubisoft games and their protections:

Splinter Cell - Safedisk
Prince of Persia 2 - Safedisk 4
Far Cry - Safedisk 4
IL-2 Sturmovik - Cdilla
Beyond Good and Evil - Tages
XIII - no protection

So it looks like the later games use Safedisk 4.

Far Cry - SafeDisk 3 sins SafeDisk 4 wasn't even born when Far Cry came out
Il-2 Sturmovik - SafeDisk 3
XIII - Tages check later nfo's or scene forums

Yep. But this is from subsim.com. While Gamespot/IGN get games to review multiple times a month, these guys, what? Like once every 4 years?
They musta pissed themselves in anticipation (not unlike some of you I expect Smile)

I gotta admit though, he did make it sound very badass, despite all that. His system specs were also kinda close to mine, which is reassuring.

Some people already received their shipments and its before ship date! People been posting their own screenshots and stuff on SH3 forums, supposedly people who pre ordered the game from Amazon got it early! wtf. So it should hit around here soon.

The review is only intended for one section of the gaming community however and it's probably not reliable in terms of details - but rather the 'feeling' it generates amongst those gamers.

There is some stuff I'm reading on the forums though that is disappointing. No Wolfpack tactics being one. You won't be working with Allies to bring down convoys for example - it's solo work all the way and that to me is a letdown as it kinda degrades from the world war atmosphere. I don't like this notion you are the only people out there fighting against 'evil' Wink

I postively can't wait though... the videos, the reviews, the fact that even if it's just an updated version of SHII I'll be satisfied...

It uses starforce Sad , I wonder how that piece of spywear will ruin my system. Think brothers in arms will use it also then.

More of an incentive to buy it really, especially if multiplayer online is doable. Hopefully if it's stable the NForce lot can get together online Smile

Still waiting for a copy though... and I can't hold in the anticipation Sad

that would be the end of starforce.
the more games use sf3, the more attenction they attract on the protection... silent hunter, brother in arms, splinter cell 3... groups are not surrender this way... they'll be back with new tools

If u can download it from direct2drive then tell me how in hell can it have SF, basicly all u need then is just a cracked exe since its basicly a full install and since u dont need a drive i say why should it have SF , anyway on this forum are mostly idiots that claims things before they actualy know it is protected with SF so imo shut up and wait, then U can still talk about this if it has SF or not.

How did you come to that conclusion?
Frankly, I'm more confused right now than Jessica Simpson in an academic decathalon.
Half the people screaming starforce, now no starfoce, truth is nobody knows shit Very Happy
At least thats the only conclusion I can come to.

Patiently waiting for dis releasey....must...have...soon.

BTW, does anyone know if that ingame mp3 player (via the gramaphone) can be heard throughout the ship, or do you gotta be in the same room with it to hear the music?

Was lookin forward to looping the Crimson Tide theme on it while I play.

what do you know about "nobody knows shit", ok sure none of us can be 100% sure, but i can tell you to stop feeling like jessica simpson (who aint that hot anyway, because of her stupidness).

Because i can tell u that this game is 99% sure to NOT have SF, why? Because no developer/publisher in the history of SF have been dumb enugh to release a non-protected version online, and spending the time and money incorporating it into their retail store version at the same time even tough they know itll be the online version that will be warez'ed.

Sure the majority of the people here scream SF!!!!!! So? many many games have uberprotections for the release candidates, thats why we dont see as many mega early releases as we did before, nowadays the scene gets releases around the same day it gets released in stores. Period.
It's all about being able to think for yourself and ignore people who have no way of knowing. =)
