Yeah thingyverse is kinda the catchall hub for sharing files, it's great if just find exactly what you need, sometimes the print settings / designs can be bad.

Using existing models / STL and modifying tends to be more pain/work than designing your own model from scratch. Suggest learning fusion360, it doesn't take that long before you can make just about anything.

2nd (3rd?) thingiverse.com easiest place to get stuff, and has a lot of options.

By far the easiest place to get them. You will need to weed through some rather 'meh' and iffy ones now and then as anyone can put up anything, but overall Id say quality there is 6/10 to 10/10 depending on the model and author.

There is ways to get better models and detailed reliefs. But its multistep usually: Get STL or Fusion raw model, scale it and convert to printable object: it's how I get some of my CNC models. Same-Same just 3d print put material where it needs it, CNC takes material away from where it doesn't.

Not the best example site but first I can remember. Like this, I used for some drink coasters:

Post some pic's at some point, curious the quality / resolution of your printer. How long does a good print take etc.

Isn't it very messy to deal with resin..? The quality of small figurines seems slightly better but if i get a 3D printer i don't think i would go for resin.

I think it's much better tbh (atleast with my Phrozen 8k). So its more about details than the other kind. However, I do think both have their strength.

I can post pictures later today, however - the models i used are made for 4k and not 8k. But my printer and resin are ment for 8k. But its awsome still Smile
Gonna see if i can manage to take some good pictures (my mobile phone sucks at taking good pictures... or perhaps its not the mobile but rather me who sucks lol!)

I got the Phrozen Sonic Mini 8k. I think my boss bought it from 3djake or something like that. I bought it through my job. Which i just have to work a couple of hours extra to pay it rather than bring up my wallet.
I still need to try some true 8k prints, but the characters ive printed so far are from Heroforge which I think its just 4k. They still look awsome though!

It's not really messy to do these prints or to handle them once they are done printing, but it IS more job than the SLA (I think thats what they are called?) ones i think (ive never used one of those, this is my first contact with 3d printing).
