They're not that well done (The images that is.) but it's easy to recreate, just go to the showcase mission for alliance (Czech SF's and UN troops actually plus press units and medics.) soldiers and watch the drill instruction near where you start and the animation for the training soldiers will flip out after a short while and instead stretch the meshes around like that.
(I've no idea what the AI is doing on the first set of images, kinda going into alert mode and back and switching different animations and movement routines but it's a grenadier unit on the US forces showcase mission and the rocket "jump" is easy enough to reproduce via a direct hit on a unit with a RPG-7 or AT4 such as on the Takistani showcase mission, good physics simulation for things like bullets but units rely mostly on animations so this does happen with powerful explosives and the like.)
(Normally you'd use explosives against vehicles but certain munitions for the AT4 and RPG7 - and others - are made for breaching cover and against units instead of armor, though normally the AT4 isn't reloadable apparently but single shot.)

Really thinking about buying OA aswell. Yet I dont really feel its that great of an investment just yet, for various of my own ridiculous reasons.
But does OA need a CD to be played?
Because I'm thinking about buying a key for it, and then install it using the FLT release or some other release.

I can send you the files that turns it into a activation system or you can use the previously mentioned 1.52 and then the beta update which is unprotected aside from the serial check and fade system.

Thanks for the offer Jbeckman.
But I've decided to support BI and bought it via Sprocket, just couldn't keep control over myself anymore.
Guess it's back to finding a serious Co-op team for me.

The merge is still "separate"
ArmA2\Addons for the base game which OA can read but it's overriden by ArmA2\Common that OA installs and then the ArmA2\Expansion folder for OA main data.
If you use the ArmA2OA exe it'll probably read the localization from the \Expansion and \Common folder though and skip the existing content in \Addons (Both are needed however so you can't remove the common folder or merge it into the Addons folder.)
(I'd again recommend also updating the game to the 1.52 and then beta patch to resolve a number of issues and get OA up to patch 1.07 standards.)

is sprocket a good place to buy ARMA 2? i'm planning to buy the ARMA 2 : Combined Ops.
what i'm worried about is the patch updates, on STEAM forum, there's quite a few issue on patches not updating properly. and ppl have to jump to a few hoops just to get it patched.
if i buy from sprocket, will the patch by Bohemia can be applied to the game, so that i dont need to wait for sprocket to come out with their own version of the patch?

If you want to help the developer, it's the best place to buy, because Sprocket belongs to idea which is BIS.
It's a digital download like Steam, but the DRM is more flexible.
In a future patch they will remove the DRM.
Besides, AFAIK, the patches will work OK like with in any other physical copy.
... and you'll get a Bonus.

I was referring just to the problem of only having 6 activations available in the digital download by sprocket. They will remove this later with a patch.
The digital download doesn't have any securom protection, AFAIK.
FADE will never be removed.

One problem I have with Armed Assault after patches is that I have a completely different campaign now. I get to buy units etc. to conquer towns but I fucking hate it. I'd rather have a small band killing everything type of campaign. And there are only a couple missions again. Is this some sort of protection or smth? They just cut my bought original Arma2 game in half. First it was unplayable when they released it since you couldn't finish the campaign, now it's damn short... screw this.

Warfare is part of the original ArmA 2 campaign and kicks in after a few missions as you start to command more troops, other objectives like finding evidence and completing side tasks successfully still play a part and decides what the outcome will be.
(There's four or so endings in all if I remember correctly.)

God listen to all the belly aching here. Its clearly evident that some of you have no idea what the mod community does for the Arma series.Give it time....tons of user made missions are already out as well as mods.Campaigns will follow if you think its too short and its all free. You also have the great ACE mod which works with it for much better realism and tons of features added. At least you do not have to pay for any DLC!!!!
If ya don't already know tons of missions and mods here,

I use numerous mods myself (A hundred or so additional PBO's all in all, too many to list.), nothing huge though like ACE (Updated two days ago again, still not OA compatible but it's coming along just fine apparently.) or SLX but various tweaks, fixes and additions.
(New missions and such as well.)
A new beta is out also.

EDIT: Better changelog.

Now why would Arma need that?Arma was pretty realistic from stock and the next best thing is the Ace mod.
Don't get me wrong I like BF2 project reality but Arma 2 with Ace tops that in every way.Would be nice to see cave hunting and a grappling hook and climb mod though.Arma don't have that, haha. Its great working as a team and clearing those caves by climbing up to them.

You got a point. But they gathered some good community modders, AFAIK. I'm a bit curious what will come out.

PR has a lot more than what you mention. It has a lot of content in BF2, and isn't purely about trying to be realistic. Don't forget insurgency mode and PR has a lot more factions than A2 iirc. Also, imo, PR on bf2 has better (opinion) and more detailed (not opinion) maps than A2.
I presume PR on A2 will have custom and themed maps in addition to an insurgency faction as well as other factions. My feeling however is that BF2 is a much more friendly game, performance and UI-wise. I'll try PR on A2 but I have doubts. We'll see.

One thing I don't like though is the mouse lag when trying to aim with BF2 and any of its mods..I have never rectified that and I play on a high speed system. That problem has been around since stock BF2.When you aim at a target at very long distances its very hard to be precise as the aim lags when you move left or right with the sights or scopes.

The patch?
If you use ArmA2 and OA in a merged install then updating OA will give the benefit to the entire game.

Separate EXE file to load the OA data, however you can install OA with ArmA2 to create a "combined" install which has the content from both, which is how I've done it.
(Still uses a separate EXE however so you can use ArmA 2 stand alone via it's EXE or both via the OA exe, OA can of course be stand-alone as well and if installed stand-alone it's easy to merge with ArmA 2 by copying the files over and altering the registry path to be compatible with patch installs and similar.)
